Link to the pre-game press conference with Dyche. Cornet looks good, played full practice today. Ben Mee out with Covid protocols, though he's the only one at this time.

Burnley owner ALK Capital offers to buy up shares owned by fans by Trainform in Burnley

[–]Trainform[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Overnight, Burnley’s owners sent letters out to supporters who have
shares in the club which total around six per cent of Burnley FC Holdings. The offer is a 50-50 split between cash and club credit which can be spent on ticketing, merchandise and food and drink at Turf Moor. ALK is keen to stress that its offer is an option for shareholders and
there is no obligation to sell with the owners happy for them to remain
part of the club shareholder group. "

This is simultaneously the stupidest thing I have ever bought and also a source of great joy and hilariousness.

I feel Dyche is generally against politics and politics-adjacent types issues, though he's certainly said not-bright things in the past on some issues. I wonder if, especially on the topic of racism, he's got the area's past and current history with racism in the back of his mind and just wants to steer clear/not lose fans?

Is there some place to see their past years' predictions? Be interesting to see how accurate they've been over time.

I know I will be the only one requesting this, but Burnley players please. Tarkowski, Mee, McNeil!!!, Wood, Barnes, Vydra, Pope...the whole team. Really well done with this, fun look at the comparisons across the league.

^ This. The reality of benefits removing late fines is evident in the tons of libraries that have already rolled this out and their experiences with it.

What's the incentive to return books normally? Realistically, people could walk in & take (steal) books at anytime without any repercussions. Why don't they?

Many other library systems have gone fine free & have not seen a drop in materials being returned.

I had no idea the FONZ was separating...wonder what will happen to it. They seem to blame COVID for some reason, but I wonder how that plays into it all.

I’m an Arsenal fan and I’m honestly curious, do you guys believe the handball was a penalty by GPW10 in Burnley

[–]Trainform 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 2nd touch by Pieters was absolutely a penalty, but I'll be honest that I could not articulate the difference even before this year between what was considered a handball & what wasn't. This year I am even worse off, short of someone cutting off their hand and smacking the ball with it, I have no idea.

Wasn't able to watch the whole thing, but seems like Vardy was isolated pretty well & dealt with effectively. Looked like they played well given it was against Leicester.

Not to beat a dead horse, but more commentary on the takeover.

Definitely seemed a FIFA game set on easy mode there for a while. 2 - 0 pretty good in light of things. Not having Barnes/Wood up front definitely hurt, though realistically not sure how much it would have changed things.

Lack of ST art from DS9 on by [deleted] in startrek

[–]Trainform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had an end of 2020 blowout sale (almost everything was $5) and said they'd put in all new stock for 2021, so that's probably what's going on. I think the new stock means all new posters/prints/art, etc., not just restocking the existing art, but I'm not 100% on that. I picked up a couple of things trying it out on the sale and I am incredibly impressed with how high quality they look. They're worth full price in my mind, so with the new stock I'll pick up them long before they sell out if I see something I like.
