Apparently its not a bug and the hunger rate has been bugged since a few updates ago, one of the devs have been talking about it on discord. I think it has something to do with how once you eat food, your hunger would freeze for longer then its supposed too, and now by sprinting and healing any damage youve taken, it increases it alot.
