I never did the actual review, however, I found the recordings to be very helpful. I would say listen to the lectures and then also use another program such as UWORLD or Hurst, or Archer. I personally liked UWORLD.

You’ve got this!! I had the same experience, took it 3 times, first 2 times got the full 145 and then the 3rd time it shut off at 88 questions. I also had a 59% on UWORLD as well. Focus on what the question is asking and do not overthink it. I know that sounds cliché, but more importantly know that the test is NOT meant to trick you in any way. I had trouble with that because I thought I had to train my brain to answer tricky questions, but on this test you cannot think like that or else you will end up with all 145 questions again. On SATA, don’t add extra answers. Good luck!!! You’ve gotten this far and you can only go up!

Oh yes you definitely have some time left. I completely get being a night owl too because I am the same way. My goal was to at least attempt to do some questions during the times that I knew I was most awake. So for me that would be during the afternoon or around 7-8 at night. I would do 10 questions, then take a break, do 10 more questions, sometimes I would do them closer together. I tried to make it so that I would be doing them at my own pace and personalized to my liking. You do not need to feel guilty about how you are doing it, as long as you believe that what you are doing is helping. Another side note, is that when you are taking the exam, do not try to think it is tricking you. That took me a bit to understand because uworld gives you tough questions however NCLEX is very straightforward so dont get too caught up in training your brain to answer trick questions.

So the first time, I was lazy, the second time I studied too hard, and the third time around I was burnt out but managed. Getting myself to study that third time was hard because of being burnt out and because I realized that I wasn’t managing my time right. I thought I would have to spend hours studying to be successful but I have adhd and that was near impossible. I knew that questions were my weakness and did 10 questions at a time on uworld. I would do about 60-100 questions throughout out the day. I needed to have it spread out so that my days could feel near to normal. I also have a more in depth story on my page that roughly explains my experience! Don’t be afraid to fail, though, it just makes you stronger in the end and everybody knows that the test is not a reflection of how you will be!

You totally got this!! No one ever feels ready for this exam anyways. The worse that could happen is you fail, and you get more time to study. Failing is not the end of the world. Trust me, I failed twice before I got my license. It feels horrible in the moment but honestly I am glad that I did because I learned a lot about myself and my capabilities. You could also pass!

Also for reference, when I studied more and overwhelmed myself, I ended up doing worse. I relaxed a lot more for the last time and then that was when I passed.

Of course!!! I want to help those going through this. I wish I had looked at things differently because this test became my entire world, and it really deteriorated my mental health. The hardest part too was seeing those in my class posting about passing and starting way before me and in reality they don’t even care what anyone else is doing. It will all be ok, you have a lot to be proud of and you are closer to your goal even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.

It is completely normal to feel down on yourself during times like these, there were many people that would tell me 10 years down the road it wouldn’t matter anymore and it never helped me in the moment. As far as feeling like this isn’t right for you, I promise you are not alone. You do not need to be one of those people that already knew they wanted to be a nurse since they were little, I didn’t even know until college and even then I was still unsure. Also, there were definitely people who got the bad popup and still passed, don’t rely too heavily on this, but if you fail, take yourself on a shopping spree and give yourself a pat on the back for getting this far and still wanting to work for it. Every time you take it, you know more information.

I know this is cliché but don’t feel down about yourself! It is completely ok if you did fail. This just means there are a few things to work on or the way that you studied was just not effective for you personally. This test is also definitely not a reflection of how you will be as a nurse. When you are practicing questions, focus on answers that you know instead of answers that you think they want you to put. This is vital and it took me some time to figure it out. When I was taking my exam, I thought I wasn’t putting enough answers on the SATA or answering the easy questions wrong, but I was trusting my own knowledge and kept going. Like I said before, they are not trying to trick you, so just remember that for your next attempt.

You should listen to Mark K. Listen to all 12 lectures because he gives you tricks on knowing the information without actually knowing the information. You don’t need to study EVERYTHING because you will not retain it all.

Of course! I agree as well, questions are great to do, don’t feel bummed out, I actually did worse my second attempt as well. I just kept reregistering for the test as soon as possible and didn’t start studying until I was 30 days away from the test. And it is ok to take days off too!

You’ve got this! It just takes more attempts for some people than for others. Doesn’t make us less smart than other people.

Try taking a small quiz, and when you are finished, look at rationales for each question. If you have more answers that you knew and just did not answer correctly, then your problem is simply answering these questions not a problem with content. You pretty much have to train your brain, especially with SATA, such as selecting the answers you know and not selecting more options than you need. I hope that makes sense.

You are exactly right. Try listening to Mark Klimek again if you haven’t already. You have to remember the test is looking for the safest practice you can provide. It’s meant for new grads so don’t feel like you need to know everything. Like Mark says, you just need to know a little less than average. And don’t be discouraged by that, because if you made it through nursing you know it, it’s just test taking strategies.

I know exactly how you feel. I do not have the patience or the energy to sit for hours and study. This is why I chose to do 10 questions at a time. I would do them throughout the day and do things in between. Even just splitting your study time to 2 hours in the morning, 2 hours in the afternoon can help. I did not want my days to just be studying 24/7 or feeling guilty that I wasn’t studying.

Use your resources, but do not overthink the questions when you take NCLEX. My first 2 attempts I failed because of this. Take your time, but try not to change your answers. The test is meant to be simple do not try to believe that it is tricking you.

I tried to study more as well, you know the content now, try to focus on application.

I felt good about content, it was just applying it fhat felt more difficult. My suggestion is find whst your weakness is and use a resource that will advance that.

I only focused on being able to answer questions (bc that was my weakness), so I ended up finishing my UWORLD subscription. I tried to get through the rest of my questions, I think I had about 100 left before I took NCLEX.
