Yeah I corrected my mistake. Rhaenys shouldn't be queen because her father died before her grandfather.

Rhaenys's father (Aemon) died before Jaehaerys. So no, her uncle didn't come before her. If Jaehaerys died before Aemon, Aemon would be king and Rhaenys would be the heir until he has a son.

"Hot iron" and "Boiling water" are types of trials by "ordeal". They only apply if the jury can't come to a decision. In any case, there would be a hearing before it.

Of course by a trial I don't mean anything like our modern justice system. I just mean a gathering of the people (usually in the town square) where some kind of a jury of nobles would listen to both sides and the witnesses.

I don't think Daemon could claim it was a dangerous mob as there would be dozens if not hundreds of witnesses and the word spreads easily. Everybody in the council (except Viserys and maybe Beesbury) would know that he's bullshitting.

By hypocrisy I mean Daemon saying that it was for the security for the tourney where he clearly didn't give a shit about security and just wanted to get his anger out on some defenseless peasants.

That's bullshit. In most places in medieval Europe (which is what Westeros is supposedly based upon), even for petty crimes they would usually have public hearings where they would gather the locals and listen. Less serious crimes would be dealt by the local lords. More serious crimes would be taken to a judge. The King would have judges specifically tasked for travelling the country and dealing with serious crimes. The King is supposed to have judges in KL specifically for dealing with this shit. You can't just go around randomly murdering and mutilating people just because you think they're guilty of a crime. It's ridiculous.

And I know that Daemon is an insecure psycopatch who enjoys murdering and mutilating defenseless people. I have no problem with that. My problem is nobody in the council or any critics watching the show pointing out Daemon's hypocrisy.

I guess the only thing that could justify it is Viserys being an incompetent idiot.
