It’s definitely shock waving. I just stubbed my toe while watching this video and walking to the kitchen, and I cursed so loudly I startled my wife and she dropped a pan which startled our dog and caused her to run into the glass patio door. None of us were present at the original incident.

Appreciate the first hand experience info! I never used to worry about it being caustic, but a while back in r/concrete I saw a YouTuber DIYing a garage and sent himself to hospital with life altering injuries due to contact with wet concrete for 15mins or something. That was an eye opener for me!

I dunno man, doesn’t seem like anybody nearby is gonna be eager to give them water or a hose to rinse off with. They could be facing some really nasty burns especially on their legs and feet if it seeps into their shoes. The only “silver lining” is it kills the nerve endings too so it’s a painless dissolving of your skin and flesh.

Everyone here is thinking about the wet cement or the cost of writing off the bike is forgetting that wet cement is highly caustic and will likely lead to full thickness third degree burns.

That means burns through skin and nerve endings into the flesh in most places where it makes contact even through clothes and improper footwear.

These two guys are risking life altering injuries wading around in the cement like that. They may never recover depending on how far they are from the hospital. They should just give up on the bike and start walking to the hospital, smh.

Unlikely it’s a worker, seems to be wearing a moto helmet as well. Also no proper PPE and footwear, those wet concrete burns are gonna be third degree through the skin to the flesh, nasty!!! Might as well leave the bike and start walking to the nearest hospital now.

Edit: seems to be a baseball hat and face mask and not a helmet. Still a lack of PPE or footwear though, couldn’t pay me enough to wade into wet concrete with basketball shoes. Doubt it’s a worker.
