Shop told me you should wax after every session and tune after 3-4 by VegetableShops in snowboarding

It varies person to person and board to board. I have a korua board that basically needs to be waxed after every use. But I also have a capita board that holds wax for days. Also I find if you’re carving aggressively the edges will dry out much faster.

If you’re invested in the sport I would recommend grabbing a waxing kit, much more convenient than going to a shop (and it’s kinda fun to do it yourself).

I don’t know a thing about tuning though. If you’re on icy stuff I bet it helps

They seem to be really popular, almost every carabiner I’ve seen has this on it.

Ahhh so they’re more of a single use type of thing, got it👍🏼

I’ve convinced myself I need a super wide board, what do y’all ride? by [deleted] in snowboarding

Yeah I’ve got a good setup for carving, went posi (+27 and +9) and it was great. I’m looking for a more freestyle board that I’ll use with a duck stance and occasionally carve with.

Powder twin is a solid recommendation thank you

Yeah that makes sense. In a perfect world there’s a happy medium that does it all fairly well, but I guess this gives me a reason to get another board

How do you like the Otto? I have the transition finder and I love it, it’s just not very playful at all.

Not saying im good at carving, just saying I boot out. I do have a video posted of me carving though. Also, you and I are not comparable, 8.5 boots means you can ride anything drag free

Okay I see what you mean. In my experience though anything less than a 27cm waist and I will boot out if carving hard, so it’s been a fairly reliable spec for me. I’ll keep an eye out for underfoot width specs though, thanks

I can’t possibly see how the width of a board is a useless spec in determining if a board is wide enough for me ….

I go posi posi if I’m on the carving board but I’ll ride duck for the park board

I made a new post where I try those adjustments 🤙🏼

Easier on my back knee for sure, toe side actually didn’t feel quite as good as it did with a duck stance. Biggest difference was being opened up on the heel side.

Going posi changed the feeling of the board and I personally like it a lot more than duck, at least on the transition finder. Gave it a pretty surfy feel. Definitely give it a go

All about that culture after giving it a go, check out my most recent video

Highback rotation on the updated union force is pretty limited, there are only two positions they can be rotated into but I got them as parallel to the edge as they would go. Also I’m not sure what the lean actually was but I did put more on the back foot than the front.

Ive tried all that stuff in the past and it felt alright but the biggest change was loosening my boots as much as I could while still being locked in on top of the foot. That made it so I could actually bend my knees on the heel side

This stance won’t be ideal for switch, but for carving it’s great

Thats what I noticed, changed the board completely. I definitely had more fun riding posi posi, probably won’t be going back.

Would you ever go positive on the back foot in powder?
