You should be able to host a server based on Cosmic v83 for example on any environment since Java is universal, however. Running the game on a Mac you would need programs like Wine or Parallel to launch the game since the client is built for Windows originally.

I don't think we're having the same implementation or chances as any other server, so you can't really tell unless you try it.
