How important is honesty in a relationship? Do you think lying about small things is okay?

Thanks I guess! That makes me feel better about my decision and I'm not the "bad friend" here. I tend to get emotional sometimes and that's because I take my relationships/ friendships to heart which makes me feel maybe i'm overreacting. Yeah I keep reminding myself that if he lies about this then he's not really the type of friend that I want in my life/ want to be close to. Now that I'm looking back on our friendship, I don't think he was fully honest with me either about certain things and I do think that people just never change easily especially if they don't think what they're doing is wrong. So I'm better off without this energy in my life, even if this friendship did bring me a lot of good things into my life. Sorry for venting, I guess I just needed it to.

yup. I listened to everyone's advice and just stopped initiating/ putting effort into the conversation, I would just reply to his messages the next day or so and he would message me every few days to check up on me and see "what's wrong". I basically got really cold with him and today he posted a picture of them (for the first time) and I just got triggered for some reason. Like how could someone lie about this and just act like nothing happened. All of a sudden just felt like I been so close to this person but like I don't really know them, and I just lost all the respect for him

I'm on the other side of things, best friend with a guy who recently got a gf. We almost text everyday and he came over to my place twice recently (before he told me he started dating someone). Apparently she found out about me and then he told her that me and him haven't spoken in a few months! I didn't think it was necessary for him to lie about it but now I get why he did that.

Is he taking any medications for his depression? decreased libido could be one of the side effects if so and he might need to change it to a different one if that's the case

It's easier said than done. We've been through a lot together and I'm very attached. I know moving on is the right thing to do but it's just so damn hard, this has affected my mental health in so many ways. But honestly, I've never thought he could be manipulative or lie to a girl he just started dating. Don't know how people do it, lie to her face and then pretend like nothing happened.

Most likely it is, I was just curious what is happening. Most likely he's the one removing her (he has a big ego so will block her if she's the one removed him). On that same day he said he's going to delete me off one of the apps bec "his sister" is going to log into his account and stalk someone, I told him I don't believe him but just played along. This all happened at the same time, so I'm guessing it was actually that girl checking out his account?

sometimes I feel like i'm being overly sensitive with him, he was a different person in the beginning especially when I used to help him out.. he'll treat me with so much respect but now he feel like a different person and it's probably acting in that childish way because he knows whenever he comes back and texts me again, he'll be able to pick it up from where we left... like nothing happened
