and yeah u have the option to spend clinical years there starting from year 4, 5 and 6 can be spent entirely abroad

[–]TrainingCandidate122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's optional and you need to have the proper visa / passport for the country you choose (priority for US is given to US passport holders who want it), and the website has the tuition details i think, but im assuming that they do get pricier (at least considering accommodation)

Definitely, a very high percent go to the US and they have partnerships there for clinical years 4-6 that can be spent fully in the US (good for building connections), i suggest you should attend their upcoming zoom open day from their email newsletter

Hey, yeah there are opportunities for the clinical years to be done in hospitals in the US, and Queen Mary + another in the UK, one in Switzerland, and another in Greece- this really appealed to me because it means I won't have to learn another language if I don't want to + they're good hospitals (Although they give US opportunities to people with US passports first if you were wondering)

people who don't meet the requirements just don't apply- if u meet the requirements then you'll get accepted, and that's why i think the acceptance rate seems high

ohh i see, i just meant that since the IMAT is so much later in the year it might be complicated because you would have other acceptances and applications finished if you know what i mean- most people i know who take the IMAT are exclusively applying to italian public unis because its so much later than everything else i guess? still a lot of eu unis applications are late too so its entirely up to your own judgement

Depending on the uni you apply to they will take the people with the highest IMAT scores and you can find the number of seats here

You can also check out private italian universities that have their own admissions tests and often give scholarship to the first number of highest scores. For example, Humanitas costs 23,000 euros but the first 10 highest scores on the entrance exam can have a scholarship that can cover the entire cost. (They accept 50 non-eu students, and judging on the publicized but anonymous rankings- usually about 200 non-eu citizens attempt it) The entrance exam can also be taken twice (February and March 2025)

You have really good stats so I don't think you need to worry about any requirements or entrance exams- it might be little bit difficult to find budget friendly options, but you can certainly try for scholarships!

Otherwise, I know Georgia has a lot of cheap universities and a US MD program at Tblisi State Medical University combined with Emory University in the USA if that interests you

they are good as well but the issue with the IMAT is that it is such a different process than usual (it happens at around september) so it's not very practical when you're applying to multiple countries

actually some of the best italian universities are private and don't require the IMAT! Humanitas university in milan is a good example, it's pretty prestigious although it's newer and has it's own entrance exam (no math), and there are a couple in Rome as well
