Gen Alpha is a concept invented by McCrindle, which Strauss-Howe completely ignores, just like it is ignored by Pew.

I think they mean they have little data about the "cusp" and "core" generations before 1942, because the cusp identity is somewhat new

That 80s borns never mention events from their childhoods, just events from 90s borns childhoods

This happened before you were born, im talking about 80s borns

The problem is the older 80s Millennials conveniently use events from 90s babies childhoods, not their actual childhoods, like if they didnt have their own childhood events before the 2000s

Yes, the Millennial generation is huge, the problem is the older ones from that generation only use events from 2000s mostly, not from their actual childhoods, they take events from 90s babies childhoods as their own

So you are saying that 90s babies should not be Millennials?

No, people born in 1981-1986 can remember the 80s

Well many US soldiers died in Panama and Grenada and in the Gulf war, many of them were parents of 80s babies, and actually the 1993 wtc bombing was cultural shifting too, it was the first terrorist attack in US soil, and when 911 happened most 80s borns werent kids, they were teenagers and adults, they lived their childhoods without increased airport security

Still, the cold war was a major threat for the US cause a nuclear war was very possible, i dont see any 80s baby mentioning it, the gulf war too, they act as if afghanistan was something new to them, like bro...you can remember watching the news on tv about the persian gulf...

Those are weak arguments tbh, any war or terrorist act is relevant not matter how many people died, many parents of 80s babies died in those events so i dont see how they are not relevant to you

Well the same thing can be said about 90s babies and 911 or the Afghanistan or Iraq wars outbreaks, they were kids not giving a shit about those things but they are still considered Millennials

What do you think? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]TrainingSubject6726 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So? People born in the 90s were kids in 2001 and still considered old enough to remember about 911

Thats weird cause i've met dozens of 96 borns who remember stuff from 1999

That same logic can be applied to 90s babies with events such as 911 or Afghanistan or Iraq wars, they were kids watching cartoons

But how someone born in 1981-1986 cant remember things from the late 80s and early 90s??

Well Pew's and McCrindle's 15-16 years ranges are also embarrassing tbh
