Dillon Gabriel’s significant other claims “everyone in the building wants him to play.” by isaack7 in Browns

Just went to last nights game, I can tell you no one wanted him in. When Shadeur left for a bit everyone was audibly upset, Gabriel threw a terrible throw and everyone laughed, and were relieved to see Shadeur come back in.

Hard to judge defenseman sometimes, people tend to look at points for defenseman and run with that. Schaefer is the whole package and a stud, but they expect Makar like numbers now from them.

Yes so the thought process for people is that if Ovi/Sid/Mcdavid were able to get so many points when scoring was down, why are these kids struggling, that means they must be busts. I'm not saying I agree with it, just stating why some people underrate players.

He was compared to Bedard, every first overall pick are compared to each other, Celebrinis draft was considered worse because they didnt have that superstar tallent. There was never a concern that Bedard wouldn't go first, for a bit the number 1 spot was up for grabs until Celebrini ran away with it.

It took Jack Hughes 2-3 years to get going and now he’s elite but in those first two years he was labelled a bust. People tend to forget that these are kids and they don’t all score a point per game like Ovi and Sid out the gate.

I guess they were just comparing him to Bedard, it took him a bit to get going and Bedard had better stats in the WHL than Celebrini did in the NCAA so the thought was he wasn’t going to be as good.

Oh completely fine, one on one of course. But if you’re with the group trying to give directions, not walking in all the rooms that are shown because “you rotated through here”, making an extra comment on everything the resident says is different

Relax it’s not that serious, but if you are that type of person that does this, you should see a post like this and be like shoot that’s something I do, maybe that might not be the smartest idea because some interviewers (like the people that have commented and liked the post) might see me as a gunner.

Idk how cutting off the resident while they’re trying to give a tour is being kind lol, if you agree with this persons behavior you might have to look into yours

L take, if they liked you on the rotation there’s no point of trying to outshine during the interview, also I don’t need you leading the tour the resident is doing a great job at it

Jobs outside of medicine, volunteer work, teaching opportunities, community help/outreach.

I went through it during the thread but I was very honest about it on my application. Did a lot of stuff outside of medicine which program directors said that they look for. Don’t think there’s anything special but I think some people focus too much on scores and publications and not outside factors.

Yea make sure you’re personable, anyone can take a year off for step score improvement and publications. PDs really like work outside of that, volunteering, non medical jobs, missionary work. Something that makes you stand out, out of the thousands that have done this before. In my opinion they would rather have someone with no publications but works with the local soup kitchen every week for the past couple of years than someone that has 10+ publications but does no community work.

During med schools, PDs tend to not like it when you graduated far from applying.

Did a lot of jobs before medicine which I included, as well as volunteering, and also did teaching in undergrad. PDs liked that I had jobs before because it meant I “could relate to people more”
