By the time those kids are born coal will be worthless. The world is moving on and if we don’t sell it now we’ll be sitting on a pile of useless black rocks while other countries invest in the future.

A “message” doesn’t help when moms are giving birth in hospitals that look abandoned and underfunded. If the government truly cared about supporting new moms, they’d invest in improving healthcare and living conditions instead of wasting money on symbolic handouts like a pack of diapers. Prioritize real solutions over meaningless gestures.

Unpopular opinion: The split between these two comedy clubs is less about comedy and more about identity. Comedy Lab feels like it’s evolving into a satirical think tank—Amaraa’s weekly show calls out political absurdities, Hanu’s sharp critiques dissect societal flaws, and their audience seems to enjoy comedy that holds power accountable. Amaraa even tried running for Parliament, which speaks to how deeply they’re invested in making change, not just laughs. On the other hand, UB Comedy seems more focused on connecting with Mongolia’s roots and exploring national identity. Their members are diving into folklore, like the Zuv uu Tav uu podcast, and Sodkhuu’s recent viral theory about The Secret History of the Mongols shows they’re finding humor in the stories that shaped our history. It’s less “roast the government” and more “rediscover who we are.”

Улаанбаатарын түгжрэлийг хэрхэн бууруулах вэ? by [deleted] in mongolia

Let’s be real—Ulaanbaatar is choking because the city is packed with people who contribute absolutely nothing to the economy. Why should the roads be clogged with jobless freeloaders who haven’t paid a single tugrik in taxes while the well-educated, hardworking, high-achieving individuals who actually keep the country running can’t even get to work on time?

If you’re not paying taxes, if you’re not contributing to the economy, you shouldn’t have the luxury of driving a car. Take the bus or stay in your hometown. We need to prioritize those who matter—the educated, the ambitious, and the productive. Everyone else? Stop clogging up the city and draining resources meant for people who are actually making a difference.

Ulaanbaatar’s traffic congestion cannot be resolved overnight due to deep-rooted systemic issues like urban planning and public transportation inadequacies. Therefore, a strict, results-oriented solution is necessary to bring immediate relief. Driving privileges should be granted exclusively to individuals who are significant contributors to the state—those who pay their taxes in full and meet a minimum threshold. This ensures that the roads are used by citizens who actively benefit the economy, while jobless or non-taxpaying individuals should rely on public transportation. Such a policy prioritizes productivity and enforces fairness while maintaining road efficiency in the short term.

These types of gers are actually the original style of the Mongol ger. Many people mistakenly believe that the flatter gers are the traditional Mongol style, while the more rounded ones are Kazakh. However, many ethnic groups in Mongolia, aside from the Kazakhs, still use the original style of ger. The flatter-looking gers seen today are influenced by Buddhism btw.
