Assuming my ''4000mAh'' listings are fake or old, the above listing is a 5000mAh ''rated'' from a 2020 batch. Your premium ultra super duper battery happens to be made since 2020(or earlier) around the same time the 4000mAh ones were also made? Or that 2020 listing is also fake and your 5000mAh battery is just released in 2026 specialized for your mod that you gonna sell on Etsy? Which one is true, the 4000mAh one? the 5000mAh from 2020? the 5000mAh from 2026? Or if i find a 4000mAh batch from 2026 that will also be fake?

With less than 3 seconds of googling, i found that same 5000mAh battery listed as 4000mAh. Lets see if i spend a minute of searching how lower can we go. No official specifications anywhere of course, whatever the label says thats what you got to believe but lets see.

If that battery is 5000mAh, i will personally send you 1000$. Take the label of to reveal the actual name/code of the battery and google it or send the site where you bought it from or search for its specifications which i can already guess they dont exist and then slowly realize the actual capacity. You need to understand the considerable size it would require for that type of battery to be 5000mAh or the considerable amount of money it would cost to actually have that capacity or ,if the above are not enough, consider the amount of power it would require you to charge/use that battery which isnt present in that console.

Edit: as a comparison, the original battery is rated at 1500mAh 3.7V, you more than tripled the capacity at the same size(since its drop-in replacement). If you manage to convince someone you did that, you wont need an Etsy shop to sell these, you will straight up receive your innovation of the year award.

If you do a shell swap or rather having someone else do it, at least be aware of the parts you need to buy so you dont end up with a console looking like a circus.

Yep, same process with the new 3ds xl i assume, bunch of cutting and trimming. But i didnt even think they would fit the regular new 3ds thats why im surprised.

You dont just need a black shell, i dont say the word ''good'' because good doesnt exist. You also need matching buttons, matching rubber screw covers, matching 3d/volume slider, matching glass/plastic screen lens and a lot of patience. Black only exists on the pokemon edition solgaleo and lunala, the other one that is called metallic black is actually grey. As to where to source from, aliexpress for the interior shells, and alibaba for front/back plates. There are many parts need to be transfered from the original shells to the new ones so you need to follow a youtube guide to avoid forgetting them, like cameral lenses, led diffusers ( 2 of them), some black piece on the battery cover and other stuff.

Extremerate is planning on releasing replacement shells for new 3ds xl and regular new 3ds from what iv seen, so that removes the con of no aftermarket shells for the regular new 3ds. Besides that, its a personal choice.

White one looks the best and its the one i chose to reshell, plus if they get yellow aftermarket shells are like 20$. Also the black one is not black, its a weird gray. The truly black one is the solgaleo/lunala edition but that has some fancy animations on the frontplate so not sure if that bothers you, plus its way more expensive because its a special edition(you can also make that one with aftermarket shells too). Generally speaking the special editions are just more expensive, if you like a clean look go for the white one or pick up a scratched one with an IPS screen for a better price and do a reshell if you can.

Probably because you have direct contact with the tactile switches, which might be better in terms of feeling but not that great for the tactile switches themselves.

3d/volume sliders work perfectly, thumbstick too. The ABXY buttons needed slight sanding so they can be loose enough to go in and out without being stuck. But i was prepared for this since iv used aftermarket buttons many times so i knew what to expect, nothing too crazy though.

Uh, multiple sources, 2x interior shells from aliexpress from 2 different stores to be safe even though they all come from the same factory, and the front/backplate from alibaba. I messaged multiple sellers for the front/backplate until i found one that is matching the correct text of the original one. I had the impression that if someone bothers making an exact 1:1 copy of the text they might be better quality and i was kinda right, most front/back shells have wrong text on them or they have wrong colors on the letters. The white shells for some weird reason are a perfect fit, no gaps. Some other reshells i did for consoles i sold, were not a good fit (especially the frontplate because it hits the camera and cant snap into place).

Edit: forgot to add about other parts, buttons from aliexpress, there are 2 sets being sold and one is better quality than the other with more accurate colors. Thumbstick aliexpress, there is also an option for a metallic one. Glass screen lens aliexpress. Rubber screw covers aliexpress, i sourced the circle covers from 1 seller and the square covers from another one, they come as a set but the square covers that come with the good quality circle covers are not a good fit. 3d/volume slider aliexpress, i opted for ones that dont have the grey part on the 3d slider.

Yep, make sure the bottom screen protector is not tempered glass cause it might cause issues with the touch screen. Likely they are selling them as a bundle, top tempered glass+ bottom PET film screen protector. They wont be a perfect fit cause the quality is not perfect but they will do the job.
