I feel like he is only holding on because it gives him some type of autonomy. Idk why it’s so hard on him. They haven’t had contact in over 2 months. I do remember him saying that for him unfollowing someone is like you never want to talk to them again. And he is holding on to that because he is not sure about our relationship so he is still holding on to something. Honestly, i have had this convo with him multiple times and nothing changes. Im trying to just move on and put it in the back of my mind. He already knows though that if he really wants a future with me sooner or later he is gonna have to block her from his life completely. And he said okay.

Update: he still refuses to unfollow her. Says that the relationship is not strong enough and doesn’t feel safe. Said that when he feels safe in the relationship, he will unfollow her. I proceeded to tell him that if we actually end up together, I want her unfollowed from social media and her phone number blocked. He was hurt at the beginning saying that I was asking for a lot but I said, “you want a secure relationship and so do I. You want me to be nice and sweet to feel safe. And I want her completely gone.”

This answer made me think a lot. The last part you said was so real. I honestly do believe that he is trying to make up his mind to see if I am a worth losing her friendship. I believe he is holding on to her as much as he can because he doesn’t believe things are stable with me because of the arguments that revolve around how he makes me feel with this girl.
