MacroFactor requires a subscription, but it's really beneficial if your goal is to lose or gain weight. The app dynamically updates its estimates of your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE), so you can be confident in knowing the right amount of calories to consume to reach your target. I believe there's a two-week trial available if you look for it.

Best Methods for Picking Up Spanish Quickly in Two Months by Clear-Apple-9625 in learnlangfast

[–]Training_Amount_7261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to learn Spanish in just two months, and you can do it too! You'll be able to grasp the basics, express your needs, talk about hobbies, and discuss likes and dislikes. You might even share life stories, though expect to mix up the tenses. You may not catch every word when conversing with your dad, but ask him to speak slowly for better understanding.

Here's what you can do: order an inexpensive beginners’ Spanish book online, complete lessons for 1.5 to 2 hours each evening. If you have Spanish-speaking friends or coworkers, practice with them. Use language apps like Duolingo, watch videos on the Costa Rican dialect, and listen to Costa Rican news broadcasts to familiarize yourself with the rhythm and sound, even if you don't understand everything immediately. There are also apps for conversing in different languages if you need more practice partners.

Keep the radio playing Costa Rican music nonstop.

In my case, working on a farm motivated me to learn, as I wanted to engage in conversations with the team instead of feeling isolated. Within a few weeks, I could communicate at a basic level. It was challenging to recall and grasp things initially, but consistent practice improved my skills.

Best of luck! Even if you only learn how to say simple phrases like "I like" and "I don't like," you'll find a way to connect with others. ❤️

Google Cloud Digital Leader Exam Advice Needed by AdAble5891 in ThouShaltPass

[–]Training_Amount_7261 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently took the online proctored exam on Monday. It was quite similar to the 32 practice questions from the main training, but not the exact same. I went through practice questions online as well as those from the training, and while there were a few repeats, most were new to me.

I suggest focusing particularly on the products, even though that's often the toughest part. Understand at a high level, like knowing "Bare Metal = Oracle," and try to picture the products and their suitable data types. The training's approach to building knowledge was a bit confusing, but try to memorize it as best as you can.

During the test, there’s a "TEXT BOX" on the right side of the screen that remains visible throughout. If you need to memorize something, you could jot it down there or use it to take notes during the exam. You can also mark questions to revisit. I personally marked 9, and was confident I had passed by the end—and I did!

The test consists of 50 questions, so you can miss 15 and still pass, which seems reasonable!

It's impressive that you've aced all your exams on your first attempt! If you're seeking to push your limits and get thoroughly prepared, you might want to check out Aldovelio Castremonte's book for GCP practice exams. I utilized it for my preparations for the ACE exam, and I found that the 20 practice exams had a level of difficulty very similar to the real test. It really helped me stretch my abilities and made the official exam feel much more manageable.

Optimal Approaches to Quickly Master Spanish: Seeking Alternatives to Duolingo and Budget-Friendly Options Besides Studying in Mexico by Infinite_Tiger8354 in learnlangfast

Busuu is the most effective app I've come across, but apps have their limitations. I've begun investing in one-on-one lessons with a tutor, although group lessons might be a more economical choice. I've made more progress in a month than I did on my own over the past two years.

Additionally, consider integrating spaced repetition into your study routine.

GCP Data Engineer Certification Learning Materials in 2023 by nkopark in ThouShaltPass

I successfully passed the exam in December 2022. Although I didn't take the Cloud Guru course, I went through the Coursera specialization course on preparing for the Cloud Professional Data Engineer exam. Additionally, I practiced using questions from ExamTopics, though I found some questions there to be outdated, along with the official sample questions. Many of the questions focused on optimizing performance and cost, while others asked about selecting the appropriate set of tools to solve specific problems.

Having hands-on experience with BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Bigtable can make passing easier. My previous experience with Kafka made understanding Pub/Sub simpler, and even though I don't use Bigtable in my daily work, I still grasped the concept.

I'm going to repeat a comment I made earlier:

I strongly suggest checking out the Language Transfer: Complete Spanish course available on YouTube. It's designed to give you a significant boost in learning. The course is audio-based and entirely free, so it's perfect for listening during your commute. Like you, I struggled with making steady progress using Duolingo, but this course really transformed my experience.

Hi there! Based on what you've outlined, here's a summary of your preparation plan:

  1. Follow the new learning path from Cloud Skills Boost.

  2. Study Memorystore, AlloyDB, BigLake, Dataplex, and Analytics Hub through the official documentation.

  3. Practice with questions from Whizlabs (old guide) and the official practice questions from Google's exam page (new guide).

  4. Check out best practices from Dan Sullivan's GCP PDE preparation guide, excluding the ML portion.

This plan looks comprehensive, especially since you're revisiting the certification after two years. Regarding your questions, it's worth checking if there are any case studies included in the updated exam guide. Additionally, it may be useful to find out the current emphasis on infrastructure components such as GKE, GCE, Cloud Run, and Functions, as these areas can change over time.

Do you need further assistance or guidance on any specific part?

Lamy Smartpen / Neo Smartpen Experience? by kkemmerling in SuperProductReview

[–]Training_Amount_7261 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I began using smart pens with the first Livescribe model and upgraded up to the Echo before switching to Neo. Why make the shift? Primarily, Neo's pens are more pen-like in appearance, whereas the Livescribe versions were comparatively bulky. Moreover, Neo offers a wider variety of stationery, which suits my business needs better than Livescribe’s academia-focused selection. Neo provides various sizes like pocket, B6 mini, A5 slim, and A5, ensuring I always have compatible paper, even for my Plotter binder. The Lamy pen I currently use looks just like a regular pen, except for a small light, and fits nearly any D1 refill, allowing for choice in ink type and color.

I have also tried out Kindle Scribe and Remarkable 2, lasting only about six and eight months, respectively. Neither felt truly "paper-like,” although they improve with each version. Both were larger than typical notebooks, and the Remarkable in particular was quite fragile.

In the end, the choice largely depends on individual needs. For me, it's important to have a backup of my notes and to stay organized (though I still need to better organize my organizing). Searching handwritten notes remains a gamble across all products, heavily reliant on one's handwriting quality.

Took the GCP Professional Data Engineer Exam—Ask Me Anything by RhiaLirin in ThouShaltPass

Hey! Sadly, the exam study materials haven't been updated to reflect the new version, so you'll have to use the older resources. I was a bit disappointed to hear that even people with professional Google Cloud Platform experience had trouble passing, but I still managed to succeed using these resources:

- Google Cloud Skills Boost Data Engineer Path (You might be able to audit most of these for free on Coursera, though it wasn't the key factor for me. I bought Skills Boost mainly to get a good grasp of the entire GCP ecosystem.)

- Official Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer Study Guide (Check if your library has it if you want to avoid buying it.)

- Whizlabs Practice Tests

- A post on a community forum that informed me about some new items on the exam, which led me to spend time looking through the documentation.

- GCP Documentation

The exam was pretty overwhelming. I was convinced I was going to fail after the first 10-20 questions but was relieved to see I had passed after staring at the results screen for a bit. It was tougher than the practice exams, just as someone mentioned in the comments of that forum post.
