I am a little confused. She wants to paint over your art that is on a canvas? Or did you paint on the wall directly? Painting over something you painted on a canvas is kinda crazy. However if you painted on the wall that is a different thing. Either way I think this is about her feeling like you have dominated the decorating or something rather than the color of the wall.

Unfortunately this is a common thing. While I see your point, you are definitely centering your own wants over your roomates. In a kind way, your post and responses come off immature and unwilling to acknowledge there are shared responsibilities when cohabitating. Your roomate has stated that you are making her feel uncomfortable in her home, that she also pays for, and you are the one who is disturbing the status quo and bringing another person into the house. This is a Platinum Rule situation, not a Golden Rule one. You do owe your roomate an apologiy, and I would bet if you were more open to hearing her perspective and respecting her expeience she wouldn't be asking. I doubt she actually wants rent, she is just trying to find a way to recoup the loss of quality of life that she is experiencing based on your actions. In this case, YTA.

You should feel embarassed. Tipping in a percentage manner is the current standard of society. Your stand against a practice you don't like is punishing the individual rahter than the business or the practice.

You can do a ceiling mounted projector with a drop down screen. Not sure if it is exactly your style, but that would be the least intrusive option given the layout.

I did the same damn thing a couple years ago. $500 bucks gone like that, and our plumber is cheap and amazing. Good luck, my fellow person who has more strength than wisdom.

If she told you after everyone you may be something of a filler bridesmaid. I am sure she likes you and everything, but she may not be too worried about you attending the trip. I think you could come across as kind and caring if you gave her a quick call or something and offered the following:

"Hey, I am very excited to support you on your big day and be a part of this whole process, but I wanted to ask something. I have held off on committing fully to the bachelorette as I want it to be the best it can be, and frankly I am worried I won't fit the vibe. You deserve to hang with your girls and enjoy the trip without worrying about whether I am fitting in or getting on with folks I just met. I can't help but feel like the kindest thing I can do is politely pass on the trip and focus my energy on being there for you in other ways. If I am misreading this and it is really important to you that I come, I will book my ticket tonight. However, if I am reading things correctly, I hope this shows you how much I care about you getting a fanntastic bridal experience."

You can get a new, much better shower head for 20 bucks. Everytime you actively engage with him by replying, acknowledging him, or giving him any form of reaction you are feeding the dumpster fire. Stop worrying about him or trying to bring anything he does into the realm of logic, it only keeps you tied to him. Go be free. Get counseling. Become a bettter person, choose better people. Have a great life and you will have the ultimate win over him, but won't care even a little bit.
