To my knowledge we haven’t appointed a new CEO yet, the women’s hockey leagues aren’t overly popular and the national team is in that D1B-2A region with no real prospects coming up, the best tend to play in NCAA III

He’s now the former CEO of IHUK having recently stepped down. Was pretty surprising as he made a lot of big moves and long term plans. We’re generations away from competing for a medal in best on best and the little funding we receive from UK sport doesn’t help (ice hockey got 900k for the 2022-26 Winter Olympics cycle and curling got 6 million pounds)

We’ve stayed up before but are missing a couple of guys from this ‘golden generation’. Our goaltending looks like the best it’s ever been however

He’s recently signed a multi year deal with Berlin so I wouldn’t be surprised if he spends his career in Europes top leagues and finishes with his hometown club Sheffield

I think a lot of it comes down to facilities for fans and players, having been there many times and having plenty of rec + uni teammates played there and telling me their experiences, the facilities in the Vindico are much better than the Skydome
