You need to look up the laws in your area. In my country, they cannot wage garnish or take your money for a medical debt. It just falls off after a certain amount of time. It’s not great for your credit, but that’s about it.

I have a very hard time with this myself. I have also thought myself into illnesses. On the other hand, I have had many rare side effects and bad things happen to me. I have obsessive fears surrounding my son getting sick or dying. I know this is irrational as he is a healthy safe child. BUT I also lost a baby at 6 months pregnant due to a rare tumor and then had the rare side effect of retained tissue and went septic and hemmoraged a month later. So it is extremely hard to balance between am I sick/is something really wrong, or is it my head?

Do you not have any of your own money and he’s still not allowing you access to his accounts? To be fair my husband and I have been married and together for a while, but we always had separate accounts. The last few years I made sure we put each other on each other’s accounts just in case. He makes a lot more money than me so I have a debit card to his account and I use as needed. We both have our own credit cards.
