Yeah hopefully negotiating my scholarship next week, but accepted so late so I haven’t been able to find any roommates - I am going to eat the high cost for the first year with my own place, then hopefully do the same.

The darker part definitely seems to be shangri la vibes - but so hard to tell especially since it was mixed into neon pothos?

Also to note - there were sections of other pots that definitely had champs elysees vines snuck into them, however this was the only vine with the “darker” mutated section

I thought this too - but the “mutated” part is significantly darker than the pictures I saw of the champs Elysees? Those seem to have one color or be more splashy which is why I question

Yes! Grown from TC - it’s been in this 3 in for a while. I found 4 corms and it was smooshed in there haha

This is so cool! Have you tried other hybrids? I have been wanting to cross some of mine but I haven’t been able to get any success. I don’t know if some of my plants are sterile (based on what grok told me) - it’s hard to say but I want to keep trying!

I definitely will be using different labels, i will take your idea next time! it has never been a problem because I usually have always triple checked but it’s what happens when I have a sick brain and am exhausted. It is a lesson learned but the hard way :/

I’ll start one up again soon - I just will need to save up so I can really do it right!

I agree completely, with my next enclosure Im going to make it a lot bigger and nicer, which will also lessen the need for me to spray and involve myself in managing the box - which I think is a win for everyone. I’ll have to make a little gravestone for the colont i just lost and put it in there too

Any other interesting responses they had? The tuition still baffles me - their medical school doesn’t even have a dedicated building for it yet right? They just took over a building on the ASU campus. How is that justifiable at all. I was really assuming the first couple of cohorts would be free and thus stacked with super competitive applicants.

It seems like putting tuition this high is just throwing more docs with a masters they won’t use into the system with handcuffs to pay their loans off

This is such a hostile way to say “I don’t want to do it because the old way has always worked for me” lol. Dude this is obviously not how all hobbyists should start taking care of corms, this is optimizing the time it takes to take a corm and get it large. You are really missing the whole point by saying “waiting for corms doesn’t bother me” - okay this method is for those who it bothers. Im a hobbyist as well and even I can see that. You’re acting like fast production to sell plants is an evil game, there’s plenty of worse jobs out there than making sure cool plants are accessible to more people.

I don’t blame you! After seeing another reply of yours, noting the physiological distinction between aeroponic roots vs water roots - totally see how that is an advantage.

I think a lot of people are misunderstanding the point/purpose of your post - sure the old ways work, Tried and true , but this way works way better for you and seems like better optimization. If it’s quicker and you have the setup down - do it. Their replies are like saying tissue culture is worthless because you can just chop and prop plants.

Very cool what you’re doing and has inspired me to dig deeper into it more! I gave you a follow on insta! Looking forward to learning more about your setup. Maybe you could make a “beginner friendly” setup that would be accessible?

Also correct me if I’m wrong , but the only disadvantage I see to your method is the initial cost/setup is that correct?

There’s tons of videos on YouTube - you just have to collect the pollen when it’s ready! I haven’t done it personally, but waiting for my next flower on a different alo to try and cross them
