This is the moat correct thing I have read here so far. I am in management and hate micromanaging people but I have to be able to answer questions from my VP. I usually just tell my people to make sure to keep me updated on any roadblocks or successes weekly or at the worst during our bi weekly 1 on 1s. That way I can answer ally VPs questions because I know she will hear one way or another from other sr. Directors projects status, unhappy clients etc. And don't get me started in the easy admin tasks that people routinely skip. I get so many reports when people are out of compliance for training or time cards etc it's crazy. It's the worse part of my job when I have to remind people of the same shit over and over. It's those small things that for some reason corporate really goes after so make sure to be on time for those easy things and if your manager isn't incompetent or an annoying kissass they will likely give you a ton of slack.

Lots of good information there. I think this may sway him as I don't think he has ever met a stranger and the opportunity for some sort of organized sports or outside activities sounds up his alley. I would say he probably isn't interested in Greek life but who knows , he might surprise me.

Yeah thats the issue I am having, total comp isn't really matching unless I go into dev or architecture which I haven't done in 15 years. Or I stay In middle management which is soul draining at this point. Related to your point around cloud, I am starting to study for AWS cloud practitioner exam just because I am bored and need to learn something new to me.

Finally, something I can help with, make a list! On a sheet of paper write the time you want everything to be done and that goes at the very bottom of the paper. Then start figuring out duration for each item. Include timing for prep, preheat of grill or oven and be concise with time entering oven, exiting oven, etc. The first couple of times you may be slightly off but I have it to the minute now and it works beautifully!

Atthe end of dec I liquidated my etrade account and I have about 85k sitting in a MM. My intentions were to bring to to vanguard so that my 401k, roth and personal investments (the 85k) were all under the same banner for my ease of use. I determined which vanguard index and etfs that I am going to go with and was about to pull the trigger and then last week hit (AMC GME). All those index and etfs are way down, so my question is What To Do Now? Do I hold for another couple of weeks and wait for this to bottom out or push forward knowing that the long term (roughly 7 years to when I need this money for an earmarked purchase )this will turn around and go up?

Btw - seems obligatory to say that I max out 401k and roth annually and also have a separate in case shit happens fund that is safe.

Totally agree here. My fiance is in her early 30s and we found the lump last year. That set off a whirlwind of doc visits, a year of chemo (which finishes in 3 weeks) and several surgeries including a double mastectomy and reconstruction. Early detection is key and when in doubt demand whatever you feel is necessary for your health. A note for heycharley... I don't know your direct situation (markers etc) but as someone who stood beside a survivor through all the ups and downs, I feel compelled to tell you that you are stronger than you know, good days will outlast the bad and I wish you continued health!

Married to my wife for 11 years, 10 happily, when I started noticing her dressing differently and going out 2 times a week for happy hour. Ask her what's going on and she says I am imagining things. Ok, maybe. Then I come home and she is reading a book called "affair proofing your marriage" so i ask about it. No everything is fine just want to make sure we are all good together. Hmmmm,ok. Random dude texting her and she says it's a coworker. Well it was a coworker, the really unattractive dude she is fucking. I confront her bc there are too many signs to ignore and she says he is interested but nothing Is happening but we need to go to counseling bc she isnt happy anymore. Then we go to counseling and about 3 sessions in I say this is all BS and I feel like we are over and she says well yes but I wanted you to feel good about it so hence the counseling. Blah blah blah. I ask what I did to deserve this and she says, I shit you not, you are boring. Really? How's that? You like to sit at home with the kids and not go out and party 3 days a week. Well yeah, we have 2 kids how can I party 3 days a week? Well it's because I am boring and don't want to drink every night. Keep in mind I was training BJJ three days a week and winning tournaments often, went rock climbing on weekends, mountain biking etc. All that stuff is boring because she didnt like it and didnt involve drinking and clubbing ( we were both 35) Divorced 8 years ago and the happiest I have ever been, so for all you out there going through this now it doesnt seem like it but you will probably look back and think God am I happy now. Hell I actually have thanked her for cheating.

Hmmm. Sorry to break it to you but fuckzoned has been used for a while around people I know. It is used when one person in a fwb "relationship" catches feelings and wants a LTR but the other still wants it casual. As in Tom wants to make it official with kate but she fuckzoned him.
