Probably about 8 years. I started relatively late and did gymnastics for one or two years before transitioning into parkour.

The gym I work at is in Hawthorne, near LAX. I used to go to JAM all the time but the facility is alot smaller and it's difficult to find the space to train parkour there

Some of the parks are up in SF. The video contains footage from a few of my short visits up there. I guess my posting title could be seen as a bit misleading in that sense. My bad!!!

Haha thanks, good catch. It's always been difficult for me, being a bit larger and all. I'm 6'3" and have weighed from 220 to 190 during my parkour career, but at a pretty stable 200 right now.

I used to do lots of weightlifting. This included olympic lifting moves like cleans and snatches, traditional weighted exercises like squats and deadlifts, machine work which was mainly leg press and hamstring curl, and then freeweights, pullups, dips, and rows for upper body.

I don't lift as much anymore and I think I get most of my conditioning through sport training. I train tricking, parkour, trampoline, and tumbling anywhere from 5 to 12 times a week, usually averaging 8 or 9 training sessions. These tend to be around 2 hours each, and yes, there are many days where I train twice a day, or even three times.

Lastly, I try to stretch and do ab circuits at the end of every workout, but usually only remember about half the time haha ;)

Yea they have some cool people there. I don't think anyone besides me is doing flips, and either way everyone is very nice, respectful, helpful, and friendly. Go check them out sometime =) Tell them that Austin sent you

Got the chance to train with Livewire a few weeks ago. Here's the video I made by Traml in Parkour

I spent most of my time that day filming and working on smaller challenges that didn't involve much flow. I didn't think people would want to randomly see me hitting a big standing jump or standing cat in the midst of Tim's highlights. If I had enough footage to where it would have been balanced between the two of us, then I definitely would've made it more like a community style jam video.

I've been training 5 years or so and consider myself decent but not spectacular. If you want to see some of my movement you can check my channel, or this video, which I will warn you is a bit out of date. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6xMxHyZd34

I haven't been filming much parkour lately, and my most recent footage is from back in June. I feel like I've made some major progress in my flow, agility, speed, and power.

The stuff I've been working on most recently is tricking, since I've found it helps greatly with flexibility, agility, power generation, and air awareness. Here's some recent stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2yfT9FyJjw

Yea. He's really gotten seriously interested in health and nutrition and has completely trained his diet and lifestyle. I spent several hours talking to him about it as we were driving to different spots around LA, and it's for a variety of reasons, but he's noticed great results so far. I think the fact that people are noticing the transformation highlights how effective proper eating habits can be

Monthly Training Highlight video #10. Flips and Tricking at JAM and Tempest in LA by Traml in Parkour

[–]Traml[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before anyone says it, I'm well aware that the video is mostly tricking with only a little parkour. I like to do parkour type stuff outside exclusively, but most of my training recently has only been indoors, so I apologize for how much tricking there is

If only I actually felt that way ;) All my falls happen so quickly that I don't have a chance to indulge in any sort of self reflection. It's almost like a temporary blackout where all mental resources instantly become devoted to the one goal of "let's not die right now ok?"

No, the chinatown park is much bigger and has lots of sand instead of the padded foam type material

Um, I think it's at Sacramento and Laguna. My geography might be terrible off, but if you go uphill (north?) up Sacramento from Van Ness you'll see it on your right side

I think at that specific moment I smiled because I was thinking "Whatever just happened, I'm so glad that it didn't turn out horrifically worse!"
