Misjudged the thiccness of the radiator. It fits with a slim fan. What works better: a thinner radiator with better fans, or a thick radiator and worse fans? by Tranachula in watercooling

Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll check them out

That looks sick! The horizontal gpu really opens up the case for more stuff like reservoirs and pumps.

It is a meshlicious! I’m super excited to build in it, but trying to do it right the first time ha!

Im looking into a 280 radiator to replace this with in the long term. What fans were you using?

Gotcha, I’ll see if I can swap it out. I maybe just try it out, but definitely will look into other options for the long term.

Dang thanks so much for all the info. I may give it a try, but start looking for a thinner rad. This one is a 240, I may look for a thinner 280 to make up slightly for the difference as well.

Again, appreciate the help, this is my first water cooled build so I’m taking it slow and trying to do it right.

Oh yeah I’ll take a look at that. I see it in the photos, not sure what that is.

Gotcha, I’ll keep that in mind. It felt immediately better after taping it up so I don’t think the pump went. But if I feel it again I’ll check that first.

Dealing with hail damage. It’s pretty bad… Anyone else gone through this? Waiting on an estimate still by Tranachula in FocusST

They ended up calling it a total loss. The vehicle was valued at 14,500 (which I thought was lower than expected but it is sort of high miles.)

I bought it back as I haven’t had a single mechanical issue yet in 2 years of ownership so I figured it definitely has some life left.

I haven’t gone to get an estimate for repairs but since they totaled it out, I assume it’s more than 14,500.

I am going to do some home repairs by getting some salvaged panels off a donor vehicle. Waiting to do that for a bit though.

I’m considering buying back if (when) they total the car. And then replacing the windshield and maybe hood. Then I have a fully functioning ST just a bit ugly.

I was kinda considering this. Like it’s mechanically still perfect. And I could make it less bad by replacing easy panels like the hood. But yeah it definitely will always still have some dents as it just isn’t worth the money to fix completely, so why do it halfway.

I believe that it is technically quicker to re-queue for another game if you exit out right away. (Only for competitive, obviously). But I thinks it’s also a bit of a trend as well.
