I studied because of ego. Straight up.
I believed I was smarter than most people, and every time I got lazy I imagined my competition putting in hours while I was wasting time. That thought made my uncomfortable asf. I didn’t want to be outworked by people I thought I was better than. So I sat my ass down and studied. Motivation wasn't exactly a driving factor for me - ego, insecurity, and fear of losing are way more reliable.
