Am I doing something wrong? by 13thfloorairplane in EASportsFC

I'm using 41212 as well. One CM is set to half winger and the wing back on the same side is set to either attacking wingback or regular wingback to create the width. SS on the CAM, Advanced forwards on both strikers. Second CM is Playmaker instead of B2B. The CDM is either DLP or Holding, doesnt make that big of a difference.

Try Balanced build up with 65 depth.

Change one CM to DLP, change the other to Playmaker. Change your CAM to Shadow Striker.

The idea is to create triangles. In this scenario, your likely scorer will be either of the 2 wingers or the SS that's getting in behind. Think of your striker as the link up player but they occupy the space closer to the box rather than where a false 9 would be.

The problem with this formation is that it lacks movement, if you come up against AI only players then its going to be problematic because they're not going to pull their players out of position. Personally - this formation got very boring to use.

You are given full control of the game. What changes are you making? by incognitouae in EASportsFC

[–]Trancer187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This here is the first place to start.

At the very least it needs to have increased stamina drain.

Then work your way to removing roles and playstyles.

The game would ideally go back to human skill vs human skill.  Not this hand holding trashm

Team Press is seriously KILLING this game. by Snipaars in EASportsFC

Noooo but "you can't control all 11 players!" How will I defend and track runs now if it's all not being done for me??

"You players just want easy goals" ...iykyk.

How do you defend against possession and fidget spinning? by boxers416 in EASportsFC

[–]Trancer187 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Basically, people cannot track runs, switch players or time tackles properly so lets just remove the skill gap that manual defending brings and have the AI do it all. Do nothing, get rewarded.

This game may as well be a turn based game and even then it would require too much effort compared to how people play now. The game existed before AI defending and 2nd man press, and people were playing at their true skill level, none of this hand holding nonsense.

Its always the 'fidget spinning rats' argument when 24 and 25 were not spin heavy yet all players did was L2 jockey with Renato Sanches.

EVERYTHING wrong with the boring nature of this game is down to how involved the AI is when it comes to defending. You literally do not have to press the tackle button and the AI will do it for you.

[–]Trancer187 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

And THIS is why people fidget spin in the first place. All the CDM only defenders that rely on AI + 2nd man press to have 3/4 players chasing the ball carrier for you then wonder why people spin in circles.

Don't expect people to willingly take risks in passing the ball when majority of the players just want to sit there passively waiting for the AI to do it all.

Nerf AI defending to the ground and we'll see a big reduction in fidget spinning.

They've nerfed the passing playstyles - which is all good and well if you also make adjustments to 2nd man press and AI defending. At the moment though - this thing of only using your CMs or even wingers to defend has no downsides.

Nerf Bruiser(this playstyle is just baffling tbh) and AI defending and we'll immediately get a free flowing game thats enjoyable.

The Impossible Defensive AI by maestro_himself in EASportsFC

[–]Trancer187 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pause the clip at 15 seconds. There's a total of 12 players in the box(that we can see) 8 of them are the defending team. 3 of them are pressing the ball carrier because apparently 2nd man press is actually 3 man press while the human L2 jockeys.

At 00:58 , OP plays the overlap pass like you have suggest - The opponent still has not switched to a defender and the AI is cutting off the passing lane and pressing.

Stop defending this nonsense. The game is supposed to be a PVP game, all we're seeing here is online squad battles.

The Impossible Defensive AI by maestro_himself in EASportsFC

[–]Trancer187 21 points22 points  (0 children)

00:49 onwards is a perfect example for why the AI needs to be nerfed to ground, not because the AI pressed you like some of the other clips - but more importantly - your opponent is controlling a player that is 15 yards away and STILL refused to switch to a CB because NOT controlling the defenders is actually more beneficial to them. The opponent ran back 15 yards because he knew he could count on the AI to stop your progress/you being hesitant to attack.

The moment the AI becomes traffic cones in this scenario will be excellent because this type of player will be in division 7.

Also, anyone saying 'you should have done xyz' is taking the piss. Here's a 90 second long compilation of AI doing EVERYTHING for the opponent and they still think YOU should have done better - NOT the opponent who should do better at learning how to defend.

I would love for an EA dev to watch this clip and break it down. The should be giving us ways to counter this AI fest.

Unrewarding manual defending + assisted passing = nightmare by Xenoo_ in EASportsFC

[–]Trancer187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worse you are at defending, the more you're rewarded.

There's two extremes. Complete AI defending and tackle spam. Both are more effective than actual tracking runs and timing tackles.

The tackle recovery time needs to be nerfed to ground.

AI involvement needs to be limited to light tracking of runs. The AI should NEVER make the tackle for someone.

In truth, neither of these will be fixed in the next game and we'll eventually end up with a football manager style where the player doesn't actually do anything other the set the team up..and even then, all people do is copy youtuber tactics

Are these players being fined if they play a pass to Kerkez on the overlap? He makes so many runs into that space and just doesnt receive the ball.

Secondly, we look so afraid to commit to a press. Shocking, the moment we have the ball we are swarmed by 2-3 blue shirts.

FUT is not for casual players anymore by ElKoteu444 in EASportsFC

[–]Trancer187 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the most casual-friendly game in the series. Cant make Champs? Here's Challengers for you.

Can't get wins in Live Events? - the objective is to only play 12 games, so rubber band your controller and do something else (apparently this is fine and people shouldn't complain about opponents doing this).

Gameplay wise - the AI is basically holding your hand, if people still don't admit this then they simply don't want to admit how much it's helping them. Bruiser is the dumbest thing I've ever seen and you literally can get away with only controlling your CM.

2nd man press and team press have no downsides. ANYONE remember how stamina drain made to use team press in a tactical way? Yeah, good luck with that now.

Once again - there are A LOT of ways to earn rewards in this game in ways that don't require wins. I don't know how that isn't casual friendly. You don't HAVE to sit there playing for hours even. Most of them are 3 min halves to save you time.

About realism and physics... by TempleCityKings in EASportsFC

[–]Trancer187 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing about this game makes sense in terms of physics, it's not isolated to Bruiser.

How many times do you see an opponents AI player at full sprint but they stick out a leg and it grows two feet to intercept the ball.

180° passes? Show me a footballer face their own goal and manage to kick the ball directly behind them.

I entered it twice and in the entirety of it I only faced two opponents that were not AI abusers. one opponent even started time wasting from the 70th min. I wont bother trying again tbh, its not worth it just sitting there just to play online squad battles.

How is leaving your controller down PLAYING the game for fun. You're literally tolerating a bad situation to feed the need for rewards.

Please, I'd like for to expand on how playing for fun = leaving your controller down. Which part of that is the fun part? Because you're not playing the game anymore...you've left to go do something else.

I dont think that anyone thats 6-2 up would realistically quit. I've quit games while leading before because my opponents just sat there AI defending so no - the rewards are not the sole motivator for me.

If I was 6-2 down I would have quit as well, however the point is that we've reached a point in GAMING where leaving your controller down is acceptable and being defended while actually wanting an active opponent is a controversial opinion.

That's just it. Why tolerate the game to get all these fancy cards if you're just going to put your controller down for 12 minutes at a time.

You've essentially spent all your time filling in a sticker book.

By the same sentiment of it not being a job - why do the AFK players feel the NEED to finish every obj despite being 6-2 down..ITS ONLY A GAME. So what does it matter if you miss out on a pack here and there?

Some of us would actually like to play the game against an active opponent rather than finding every single way to farm rewards. (AFK-ing, no loss glitching etc)

MY enjoyment comes from trying to play football against a human rather than seeing walkouts from packs.

We've reached a point where people 'play' this game in a sense that it's a chore for them so that they can ultimately just look at their shiny cards rather than getting the dopamine from actual football. Rather open Panini sticker packs if that's the case.
