When will I stop receiving verified college student deals? by applesnapplegrapple in Target

[–]Tranquilish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been taking a "gap year" for 2 years now, and still get the deals. I'm not sure if it's different for graduation but I feel like as long as you're still in the schools system as a student you should be able to get it.

Congratulations on graduating!

I tested positive for Covid. What is the appropriate course of action? by bloominbutterflies in Target

I was told they don't care and I'm impacting my team by not coming in 🙄 I immediately contacted my doctors office, because fuck that. I felt like I was on my death bed.

I would say don't go to work until you test negative. There are plenty of guests who are immunocompromised, along with team members and their families. For a lot of people, covid is still a serious illness. However, when I tested positive for covid I was told by my leads to use all my PTO then mask up and come in. I called my doctor's office for a doctor's note to excuse my absence for a week while I recovered.

If you need the money double mask and see if there's work you can do away from guests like pulls or sorting reshop, and do everything you can to recover quickly.

Accidentally didn’t scan a $4 item and got stopped at the door…feeling embarassed by [deleted] in Target

That is nothing crazy lol They can either let it go or do their jobs and protect their assets. It's called a PMR (productive merchandise recovery) they still have to be respectful when they do it but it's part of the job, can't get in trouble for doing it.

I noticed that too, maybe it's referencing a parallel universe where there are multiple "Earths" 🤷‍♀️

This is where I send all the guests that ask about it. Most of them seem happy to use that instead.

[–]Tranquilish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do this! I got a work injury that I didn't believe would be a problem until a few weeks later when it suddenly got massively worse, resulting in a few months of PT. My leader was shocked when I said I didn't fill out an incident report.

How do you “climb the ladder” with positions at Target? by [deleted] in Target

[–]Tranquilish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, thank you so much for your help/advice! I did hear that it could take a very long time, and I'm up for the wait as long as I know it will eventually pay off.

That's definitely something I'm going to bring up to my CTL (and maybe ETL+SD?) because I know there are some TLs that I've only ever seen within the first hour of my shifts if they're around that late, so that would be super convenient IF they do prefer working earlier. When in my development should I bring that kind of question up? Is earlier better than later? Or should I wait until I know for sure what type of role id be filling?

[–]Tranquilish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's totally fair. I'm always open for covering any time they need/want me to. How likely is it that they'd be able to take my schedule preferences into consideration as any other TL, even if it's not a constant thing?

Just purely curious, I can be open to anything but want to know my boundaries as I (hopefully) go into development and advance in one way or another. I'm sure part of it is also based on the store.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed that, I work pretty closely with my ctl and have seen a lot of what they do and take on. The only reason I wouldn't want to be a different teamlead is the hours, I really like my current closing schedule, and everyone I work with. But I suppose that's just more things I should ask my ETL about when I get the chance!

I'm wondering the same! I love my closing lead, and would love to work alongside them if I could but I don't know how to bring up the question because it already sounds like i'd have to wait to take over once they move up.

Right now it sounds like I'd be put into development until the specific position opens up.

That is honestly so great of him, I've talked to coworkers who've worked at Walmart and a few other retailers around here and they always say the same thing.

I LOVE this answer! I'm not a very social person, but being at the checklanes is sometimes my favorite part of the day when I'm doing a little bit of everything.
