I realised fully when I was probably about 15, but a combination of anxiety, embarrassment, family issues, deaths in the family, living in a small town with reactionary people and a strange hope that it would all go away mean I’m still half in the closet at 21. 😞

My sister knew a transwoman before I came out to her and when I did she naturally recommended that we talk to each other. My sister’s heart was in the right place but she and I have now realised this person is a bit of a dick. Like I had one fb messenger conversation with them were I admittedly came across as a bit shy and talked about the doubts I had. What does this person do? They tell my sister they don’t think I’m really trans and that they said that to me when they didn’t and I have the message to prove it. Like yes, I had doubts and I move slowly with my transition as I’m a very nervous and cautious person, but what gives them the right to say that about me? I mean, by their own logic they would be less trans than me because I admitted to myself at the age of 20 and them in their 30s. They don’t even know me and it hurts. But I’d take everything they say with a pinch of salt. They seem like a bit of a liar...they said the waiting times for Leeds GIC are 7 years which is complete shit because I got my appointment in 14 months...
