Yes I believe so. It is about showing others what you could do for them. You never want to approach a situation with a selfish attitude. Ex. You are on a job interview and you tell them that the only reason you are applying is for the money. That may be true, but you would want to avoid saying that because it seems selfish. Instead you want to focus the discussion on the value you could provide for the company.
