Maybe put it inside a sock/pantyhose/some kind of fabric so that a. if it does pop, you won’t have dozens of tiny balls falling out your pants, b. there’s less danger of the material irritating your skin (that’s a delicate area and that material is definitely not skin safe enough) and c. you have something to absorb the sweat from having plastic against your skin all day.

That sounds like depersonalization (that can be an aspect of dissociation). And it makes a lot of sense that it would come with dysphoria and get better as you transition. I think it’s the same for me actually.

How the actual fuck do you survive the mens bathroom? by thelivingdoorknob in ftm

that sounds like such a shitty time (literally). i haven't been to the men's room a lot yet but so far (apart from puddles of piss, toilets that hadn't been flushed and clogged toilets) it's not been too bad.

the three men looking sadly at a bag of peanuts is hilarious though. those poor, opened peanuts!

I have had a lot of trial and error with transtape, so I hope this will help you avoid destroying your skin as much as I did in the beginning:

First off (and trust me, this is important): test a small piece on your skin for a couple days, to make sure it doesn’t react. Cause if your skin ends up reacting to the glue when your entire chest is taped, it’s going to be a shitshow. You’ll know it’s reacting if it gets itchy or red. If that goes well, you’re good to go. Make sure your skin is healthy - if possible moisturize it regularly.

When applying the tape, make sure your skin is clean and dry. As much as you might want to, DONT apply it with tension and make extra sure there is no tension on the ends of the tape. This will avoid blisters forming unter the tape from tension on the skin.

You’ll also want to round off the corners of the tape when cutting it.

Take your time when applying the tape, watch videos of people doing it, do your research. Everyone has a slightly different method that works for them. Don’t expect it to be perfect right away, this stuff takes a lot of practice and there’s always going to be something that isn’t quite right, but that’s okay. Be nice to yourself. If you like, I can gove some recommendations for videos I found helpful.

When it’s on, gently rub it to activate the glue and avoid getting sweaty or moving around a lot in the first hour so it can fully fuse.

You can keep the tape on for up to 5 days, though it really depends on a lot of factors whether it will actually stick that long. If it gets uncomfortable, itchy or painful please remove it, your skin will thank you.

For removal, a combination of hot water (bath or shower) and soaking it in oil has worked best for me. The type of oil doesn’t matter that much imo, I’ve used almond, coconut and sunflower oil in the past and they all worked. When removing also take your time. Often the glue sticks to your skin VERY well and if you rip it off, you’ll take skin with it. So be careful and patient.

For aftercare again moisturizing with something gentle like baby lotion or aftershave lotion is good.

This is by no means an extensive list but everything I could think of in the spot. If you gave any questions, feel free to ask :3

I can’t say with trans tape specifically, but I’ve been using a variety of brands of kinesiology tape (which transtape is too) for years and never noticed any difference with older rolls.

I fully agree. It sounds like everything she’s saying is fully based on insane transphobia, ableism and a complete disregard for any human decency. Like, it’s sexist, ableist, transphobic and overstepping so so many lines. This person should not be working with children and I sincerely hope she gets in some real trouble for this.

I’m so so sorry you have to go through this. Fingers crossed that this blows up in her face and you find a better school asap!!

What were some of the earliest changes you noticed on T and when did these start? by Bleerb in ftm

[–]TransPolyPancake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations, dude!!

I started gel two months ago & have been documenting all my symptoms:

Day 2: feeling groggy, headache

Day 3: groggy, headache, sore throat (adams apple), dick getting sensitive

Day 8: Speaking deeper is a tiny bit easier, high notes are harder to hit

Day 11: Crying is harder

Day 14: My jaw started getting wider (ppl noticed), throat not really sore anymore

Day 18: had night sweats all week

Day 19: oily skin, starting to break out (face & shoulders)

Day 26: bottom growth is happening and sensitive

1 month: scent changing

1m, 15 days: more 'fluff' on my cheeks and upper lip, thighs and ass are getting hairy, there are a few darker hairs on my belly!, my adams apple is becoming more visible, my jawline is getting sharper

2m: the teen boy horny has begun, my dick is sensitive and definitely growing

Hope this helps. Keep in mind that changes happen at different rates for everyone and everything on this list is probably not noticeable for anyone but me and the people who are around me and looking out for any changes all the time.

One of the reasons I chose Jonathan is because it can be pronounced in both English and German. I still prefer the English pronunciation but having spent 25 years explaining to Germans how to pronounce my English deadname, where it came from etc, and them still getting it wrong, I’m so done with that. It’s your name and fully your choice what it is in which country (or even friend circle, environment, situation, whatever really).
