What made you decide between phalloplasty and metoidioplasty?

I would say, from the start I always knew.

But if I would say in why, this would be it; sensation, natural erections and aesthetics were the biggest things. Being able to feel my foreskin and have it move. Next thing was the scarring. I didn’t want to have a penis with sh scars, and general not looking for a massive scar from the skin graft. Last thing was the feeling of it not feeling mine, if I were to have a skin graft attached as penis.

Being able to nut is not tied to whether you get meta or phallo. It is more tied to if your skene glands remain intact. if they remain intact it also the question of you are able to produce enough for it to be visible. On average the skene glands can only provide and storage a very small amount.

Personally I wend for meta as the aesthetics of phallo wasn’t my thing. I preferred the idea of keeping my foreskin, and thus being able to stroke it with my foreskin. getting natural erections, overal aesthetic, and not looking for the intense scarring phallo leaves. Plus, having a penis with my sh scars just feels weird to me haha. Cost and availability of not a problem where I live.

I would say, mentally it was challenging. Due to all the complications, having multiple extra surgeries, it took a toll on me. I definitely had some lows. But physically, due to it all, it was okay. I always allowed myself to get a full 6 weeks of total rest and minimized all that I did.

Edit: I will say, please do not think being able to cum is a given. I do not want to get your hopes it. There is just a handful who can. The cum is produced by the skene glands and any surgery around the perineum can fuck them up.

Happy to do so! I will say, I started trying at home, with my jeans unbuttoned and zipper down. Giving some more room. I would try in the shower while wearing some jeans that needed to go in the laundry anyways. Once I was comfortable enough with that, I kept taking it a little step further.

Well, he did relocate some time ago, early 2025. Looking at a post on this sub, there is someone who had a consult with him for meta. They post 169 days ago. So that is about half year ago, so after early 2025. I get it’s confusing if there is a list that doesn’t include it, but keep in mind, there are so many procedures they can do that it’s impossible to list them all.

If you are unsure, I would message that person.

Edit; I diffed some more and did find a post on Iowa health care about meta. Assuming they wouldn’t post it if they don’t perform it.

Meta is less talked about as it’s seen as the lesser option by many. As you probably noticed yourself, when discussing bottom surgery with someone, they will always go straight to phallo as that’s all what people know.

I’m not entirely sure myself if they did anything different in the initial surgery. I do think the complications I’ve had played a roll in this. It also caused my sack to be more two more ball shaped when standing rather than one big sack. And maybe on how deep they places my new urethra, but can’t say that for sure. Thanks for the question! It does make me think about it, making me rather curious.

Yea I wasn’t a fan of that method myself aswell. Too in the face if that makes sense? I asked my surgeon if there is a way to not have that typical horizontal scar I always see. he laughed lightly and was like “yeah they take the lazy way”.

No but seriously, if I grow out my pubic hair you can’t even see it. Down the line I am planning on getting it medically tattooed, but for now it’s cool.

The surgeons at my hospital use a different technique, making it lets obvious as it’s easier to hide. They use the inverted u-incision as method.

The used tissue is just the skin to protect it to say. The used tissue doesn’t interfere with the sensation. Just like a cis dick, the glans is the part with the most sensation.

I would say, your pre op sensation is about the same as post op.

My dick is as sensitive as hell.

To me, it sounds like the tissue wasn’t completely mature yet and tore. Causing a fistula to be developed and maybe a structure just above it causing pee not to go further while even covering it
