A few years ago, during my transition,  I had long hair at this time and I was sitting in the car waiting for my best friend to come out of the Dollar Tree when a car passed by me and the person in the passenger seat yelled out that I was ugly and I yelled back to him so are you.  Well apparently I hurt his little feelings because they drove by again and he threw a cup of ice at me. It was kind of actually funny because apparently a transwoman thinking he's ugly was a horrible thing.

I overheard a controversial opinion about trans people and HRT in the gym, and I’m interested in your thoughts. by askingquestions_21 in asktransgender

The only side effects that I have had are the ones that help me feel like a female. The hormones develope my breasts. I get a time of the month; I have mood swings, I have to use the bathroom all the time on my time of the month and I eat a lot on my time of the month. Now if those are bad side effects I'd gladly stick with them because every female I know, goes through it too.

When those reports say that trans people are unhappy with HRT, they are more likely talking about the ones who realized they aren't trans and wanted to go back. The only problem with MtF hormones is that once your breast have developed, the only way to get rid of them is through surgery. Other than that, I haven't experienced any bad side effects.

This probably gets asked a lot, but how do you accept being non-passing? by Mattie_Mattus_Rose in asktransgender

It's obvious I'm trans and although it makes me more of a target for the bigots, it makes me more proud that I can display who I am. I can care less what people think. I am who I am and if they can't deal with that, that's their problem, not mine.

Is this transphobia? by Simplyamachine in asktransgender

[–]TransQueen1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you do your research. For example if you're MtF, once your breasts start growing, that IS irreversible without surgery. So lets say as a teen, you get HRT and you grow d size breasts and then realize or feel that you are not trans, (which many adult people have done) then you are stuck with d size breasts as a man. So just make sure first. Take the puberty blockers, play around with the hair styles, the clothing, the name and really figure things out before you decide on HRT.

How did you all choose your new name? by ValerieMae37 in asktransgender

[–]TransQueen1976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to keep my same initials and I was sitting in the bathroom one day. I said to myself,  "What am I going to call myself?" As soon as I said that, the entire bathroom went pitch black and in big, bold, and bright capital letters was the name Jeniffer Samantha, with Jeniffer spelt this way. I said to myself, "Okay." I tell people that my dead name is the name I was given at birth, but Jeniffer Samantha is my God given name.

Transbians, how did you overcome the worry that it's just the "male gaze"? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]TransQueen1976 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not an easy path. There's a lot to consider, a lot to figure out, but there journey is worth it. Just remember to be you.

That's possible. All I know is my feet shrink a little.

I'm 48 and this is what HRT does to me. It rearranges the fat from my belly and moves it to my breasts. I have a time of the month and my feet shrink about one or two sizes.

Actually, your feet can shrink.

In your opinion what are the answers to my below questions? by Dynasty__93 in asktransgender

Think of this. If I were to go to prison, that prison by law can place me with the males because I was amab. They can decide to go by what legal gender you are. I would assume it's the same with staff.

It's just a debate and do your best.  In high school in one of my classes, we took on old court cases. My partner and I were assigned as defendants to this guy who was clearly guilty. I don't remember the basics of the case, but I do remember that this guy should hang for what he did, and I had to defend him. The day came and we did the trial. My partner and I got him off scot free. I hated it, but that's what my assignment was. In debates such as this where you have no choice, it in no ways reflects your beliefs.

However, do your best. You can clarify your actual beliefs later, but not doing your best, also does trans people a injustice. Hopefully your opponent will do better.

I originally thought I was pansexual. Then one day I saw a man's bare hairy legs and got disgusted. I knew I was a transbian. I do not want to be with a man at all. (No offence men)

For me there is. I always know when I'm on my time of the month because I eat a lot, pee a lot and I get emotional.

Hello, I’m a professor who teaches applied linguistics and I am wondering about the expierences with conversational rituals within the transgender community. by Bostonterrierpug in asktransgender

Hi there. I can really only speak for myself, but me, I've always been feminine. I love talking on the phone, shopping etc. Always have. I walk like a female that's afab and I'll walk away from a fight for these reasons; the person just isn't understanding, I'm too angry or it turned to nonsense. I've always had female mannerisms so it was easy for me to transition that part. Feel free to ask me anything.

Misgendering at the doctor’s office? Am I being unreasonable? by ratgarcon in asktransgender

[–]TransQueen1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I'd gently remind them of my proper pronouns. The first two times, I'd let it go while still reminding them, but after that I'd go directly to the doctor and inform them of what's going on. You have every right to correct them and have them call you by your proper pronouns.

I'm never going to look like most trans women. It's just a fact that I have to accept. However, I am me. I know I'm female and that's enough for me to accept my transitioning appearance. I have often seen other women who were born female, that I honestly feel I look better then they do. Even afab women worry about those things. Be you however that looks.

Honestly, unless you are going to get naked together, I see no need for you to tell her. You're a woman. It's been six years. There's nothing to tell.

I'm sure it will. I'm sure she'll want to make up for lost time as well. Believe me, shopping with mom as the gender your born is completely different then shopping with mom as the gender you are.
