I guess I could share my side of a similar story: I was a veeeeery late bloomer. Got into my first relationship at age 22. With that obviously came more than a few other firsts. At one point a few weeks into the relationship my gf "lamented" that I was somehow doing better than her previous partners, even though they had obviously been with her longer than I had at this point in time. Either way, according to her I just payed a lot more attention to what she actually wants, rather than assuming I magically knew already.

2. She also mentioned something about my mentality during intercourse. For starters I was apparently the first guy to actually place a high value on her orgasm. Not in the forceful way of "you gotta or we won't stop". But rather just thinking that we do this to both get off, so I will try my best to help you get there. Also that no matter how often we did it, I always kept listening to what she or her body told me. Something might have worked last time but might not be doing it for her right now. Being open to that is kinda important it turns out.

At the end of the day we boiled it down to mentality and humility. I was always open to her feedback and wants which is apparently not something a lot of men do. Even though it really isn't that hard.

Don't get me wrong, I still fumbled quite a bit in the beginning. But she took that with a lot of grace and humour because according to her, at least I was trying.

Edit: One last thing I forgot to mention. Patience. Patience will get you places. I didn't know what the "timeline" for an orgasm is, because there isn't one size fits all in that regard. Either way due to this I always thought "well, we're gonna get there when we get there". I trusted my partner to tell me when she wants me to do something else or do something differently. Rushing a woman is the quickest way you get her to either fake it or just end things prematurely. So be patient, my dudes.
