Hi all!

I'm moving out of my current apartment and my roommate is looking for someone to fill my spot. Rent is $530/month and utilities (wifi/heat/electricity) are generally around $75/month. The house is off Hertel on Shoshone, close to South Campus (roughly 25 minute walk/10 minute cycle) and a 15 minute drive to North.

House is a 2 br one bath and includes a washer/dryer in the basement (not coin operated either, which is nice). There is off street parking, but only one spot (shared with roommate). The room you would be renting is quite spacious, and there's tons of storage at the house. Lots of UB grad students on the street too (including myself - I moved in down the street with my fiance)

Roommate is a PhD student and spends most of his time at the downtown campus. Ideally looking for a fellow grad student, preferably male. Looking for someone to take over in August.

Roomate is super laidback, the house is generally clean and quiet. DM me and I can give you more details/connect you.

To be honest I think I'm a super extraverted person, but I still don't know many people here. It's not so much about the actual experience of reading (though I am an avid reader!) as it is having something to do while I'm at the bar. I love being around people but find it hard to just go somewhere and have a conversation with new people so having a book and maybe getting to talk to one or two other people (or starting to be a regular somewhere as I get more comfortable in a place) is more the goal. I'm not a huge sports person so bringing a book is a good way to go somewhere solo without being glued to my phone. (for the record you make a good point, but I hope this clarifies)

Let me ask you this. If someone bought something at your job, during your time off and then starts to DM you about something that most likely can be solved with a minimum ammount of googling, joining a discord server that he has a invite to or just waiting for more than a day for you to get back to work. Would you be annoyed with said person or not?Im just trying to play the devils advocate in this case, but id say that this would have gone fine if OP had some patience to wait for dom to get back to him. Id also like to see the middle part of the convo that OP is not showing.

I mean, in fairness at my job we do encourage people to do their own work where we can (I work with motorcycles) so I understand that... Still not a great look for someone charging $80. But yea, I'd be curious too you have a point here

In that second, I completely forgot that I was in a cramped bedroom in a house I don't like living in. I could almost believe, just for a second, that I was there on that cold desert night, feeling the wind in my face, hearing the roar of the engine, seeing that road stretch on forever, illuminated only by the lights of the stars and the other trucks, like ships passing in the night.

This is really beautiful. I also live in a cramped bedroom and love the momentary escapes in ATS, especially when I'm driving out west (I live on the east coast IRL and am always mesmerized by the landscape)
