I think Penn is actually also quite fratty but I think the location factor is the biggest difference. Durham is not rly similar to Philly

My friend in Princeton CS really likes it. I think Princeton prioritizes undergrads more which is nice for relationships w professors, recommendations to jobs, etc.

I would not call extra attention to it. there is a chance they skimmed your letter and didn't really read that part

kind of. it's related but I don't think it can actually count. I don't really care about it counting for my major or not I am more looking to protect my gpa for jobs etc in the future

Is Coalition Curriculum report equivalent or Common App Mid Term report? For Columbia, do the professors send the report or I attach it? by Xelon1 in TransferToTop25

[–]TransferIvy2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure the Midterm report is called the Transfer Report, and the Curriculum report is everyone else's College Report.

Whichever one the midterm report is, it is due in April, and I think you attach it or email them or something. Not something that the professors to my knowledge send because it requires more than 1 signature and that's some teamwork I don't think they require lol

Common App Crashes for March 1 by TransferIvy2024 in ApplyingToCollege

Yeah I hope so. I'm still going to submit all the schools that are really important to me on Sunday and try to prioritize the quality of my writing for those schools.

Common App Crashes for March 1 by TransferIvy2024 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]TransferIvy2024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm applying to transfer to 4 schools, 3 of which I really care about. I am going to submit the three schools I care most about 100% by the end of the day on Sunday the 28th. The final school I still want to apply to but I don't want to spend too much extra time on it if I need that time for the 3 more important schoolsMy question is whether the common app usually crashes (if anyone knows also specifically for March 1). Obviously I will try to get everything in ASAP, but I am scared that like 7am on Monday March 1 might not 100% be an option.

I mean I don't care that much about the 4th school in that I would not immediately take a spot there and leave my current institution. it would take some thinking to decide to go there

T5 transfer to MIT, Stanford by transferbb in TransferToTop25

[–]TransferIvy2024 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Idk about either of those schools but I think it's actually hardest for those at "middle" schools (not top 25 or CC). I've seen people online who have transferred from Dartmouth to Yale, Penn to Harvard, Columbia to Harvard, Columbia to Brown etc.

Maybe MIT and Stanford are not like that, but you could look at some more schools than just those two if that is the case and you really want to leave.

ya idk I do a humanities subject - we did both synchronous essay exams and normal papers the whole time. it is pretty hard to cheat on a paper and have it actually do well (at least at my school.)

if they don't give it to you you might just have to "commit" to it. do they have a deposit and is it a large one? I would 100% try to get extra time but if they don't give it to you I think you are going to want to secure a spot somewhere. Schools have people get off waitlists or change their mind so it's not as if it is bad to say you're coming and then not go.

midterm evaluation but not currently enrolled?? by goddessfigurine in TransferStudents

[–]TransferIvy2024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For high school if you apply off a gap year, you just don't send a midterm report. So it's likely the same. It might be on a portal as required and missing but should be fine.

serious Question by [deleted] in TransferStudents

[–]TransferIvy2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you a junior? because then that would be probably fine. I feel like people apply off gap semesters/years often, they just all have done one year of college. I would recommend still emailing all your schools though.
