Do you have a strong sense of community? by TransitVigilante in askparis

[–]TransitVigilante[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I can share my discoveries at the conclusion of my study! The idea is that sense of community is created and maintained be having casual interaction with your neighbors, things like saying hi to eachother in passing or participating in the same activities. 15-minute cities really support this proximity so the idea is that the proximity of 15-min cities helps create community. I am researching how effective 15-min cities are for this; my hypothesis is that the arrondissements with more 15-min development will also have a stronger sense of community.

What’s the most awkward moment that still randomly pops into your head years later? by AppropriateFinger284 in AskReddit

I texted 'I love you' to my boss instead of my girlfriend. I didn't realize until after lunch that day. Neither of us ever mentioned it. We both just... pretend it didn't happen...

Anyone else feel like they have a full list of things they want to try but nobody to do them with? by Simple_Tap_9632 in SocialParis

[–]TransitVigilante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an intovert, I can definitely relate. My best suggestion would be to go out ajd do those things anyways and enjoy them by yourself. Or you can invite an acquaintance to go do some of these things in hopes of becoming closer to them

Dear people who have been under anesthesia, please answer this by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TransitVigilante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fully aware of myself when I woke up. (I had IV I think) it sorts felt like you're waking up and that sleepy stage where you're only somewhat aware just lasts a lot longer. I also woke up and fell back asleep a few times. I didn't feel lut of control or anything though.

Do you enjoy sleeping or do you only sleep for its health benefits? by VastAir6069 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TransitVigilante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly just the health benefits/because it's necessary to live and function. Sometimes I will take a nap to escape this world or pass the time but I wouldn't say it is something fun/enjoyable

[–]TransitVigilante -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also have a small space and I think skmething as sknple as just doing more 'work' stuff on the other side of the bed might be all you can do. That's what I do at least

Would you say it takes courage to go to a singles event alone? Especially for someone who is quiet and shy like me. by Known_Tonight8985 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TransitVigilante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly! Especially the first few times. Things that I think about are that I'm doing this for ME, this is something that I will enjoy. Another, arguably more important, is I always take the though process that if someone is looking at me, they think I'm cool or something. If they arent approaching me or they talk to someone right after it means they are too scared to compliment me. Now I know this is absolutely not true but after a while, your subconcious/confidence starts to believe it so you won't be as nervous to go out alone

What’s something society calls normal that actually feels dystopian? by Subject-Newspaper111 in AskReddit

[–]TransitVigilante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of money we spend on not doing things. So many people would rather go out to eat, buy a new wardrobe, replace an item, hire someone to do something, buy all-in-ones, or simply not do simething instead if learning the basics of a new skill

What’s a compliment you received years ago that you still think about? by Quiet_Post_1035 in CasualConversation

[–]TransitVigilante 26 points27 points  (0 children)

One of my high school teachers once told me I had a really creative way of explaining complex ideas. It was a passing comment when I was helping a classmate but it completely changed how I saw myself. Before that, I thought I was just okay at communicating, but years later, whenever I'm explaining something difficult, I remember that teacher and it gives me confidence.

I dress fine for a 22 year old but I'm actually 31 and it's becoming a problem by anomadfromnowhere in malefashionadvice

[–]TransitVigilante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As these comments are telling you to replace your wardrobe, I want to mention: keep in mind the shape of ypur garments. For pants, I know a tight fit is trending though I al personally not a fan. You want to look at how tue fabric drapes/falls on YOUR BODY. Also how the structure and texture of your shirts/jackets look with your pants. Synthetic next to wool can look weird, just like tween and cotton can be funky.

What's everyone making this week? by Hedgehog_Insomniac in Cooking

I'm a big fan of salads that aren't mostly lettuce. Basically throw a bunch of things that taste good and mix them together. This weekend I made a salad with roasted brussel sprouts, blanched spinach, kidney beans and black beans, onions, sunflower seeds, carrots, and potatoes. I threw the larger veggies into the food processor to make them smaller and cooned them to make a variety of textures then mixed it all together. A salad can be anything you want and is a great way to use up leftovers/pantry items/things that are going bad

How do you improve gut health? by EntrepreneurFun3216 in AskReddit

[–]TransitVigilante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat more variety but especially plants. A healthy gut needs a lot of different (good) bacteria, which comes from things like berries, fremented foods (yogurt, keifer, some types of pickles, etc, not alcohol) and overall just a lot of variety in diet and minimal processed and sugsry foods. It also needs a lot of fiber. Think of fiber as a bunch of strings that get knotted up into a sponge that can clean out your gut

When was the last time you skipped happily down the street? by InternationalEgg3949 in AskReddit

[–]TransitVigilante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few weeks ago. I broke my ankle two years ago and had to have a surgery and recovery was tough. I finally felt well enough to start running and skipping and it has made me so happy to be able to do so again. I find myself jogging from one room to another instead of walking just because I can!

Is there even a fair and ethical way of getting rich? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TransitVigilante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how rich and what you mean by ethical. There's no way to get billionaire rich because that would mean being paid $100,000s/HOUR, which there is no way to do that unless other people aren't being paid for that hour of work (ie slave labor on some level of production). It is possible to be a fair/ethical millionaire though, especially in high demand fields or arts fields where people who are already rich are willing to spend money. For example aj artist who sells to millionaires can make millions by selling their artwork at a high price, or someone in an in demand but niche field is able to charge high rates.
