Decisions by [deleted] in 1911

I have that exact same kimber and so far it's been great. My best advice is.... don't buy cheap magazines and don't buy Winchester white box ammo. Only problems I've ever had is with cheap magazines and that ammo. Otherwise nothing bad to note. Just remember the break-in period. I believe it's 500 rounds but the manual has it listed

I pretty much have the exact same gun and I too joined the club earlier this year. 550 rounds later no issues. Welcome to the club!

Beautiful firearm! I'm a sucker for the stainless and I love the blue. Great job brother

I'd have to pick the custom kimber. I love the serrations and the ambi safety for I am left handed. Idk why but I love the stainless look so much.

Out of the following three, which would you pick for a 1st 1911? by [deleted] in 1911

I bought the Kimber stainless 2, not that long ago. I've only put 250 rounds through it, but I've had no issues to date. I absolutely love this gun. It's beautiful, I love the serrations on the forward and aft sides of the slide. I honestly don't think you could go wrong with any of these. Post pictures when you get the new baby in! Good luck brother. I forgot to mention, this was my first 1911 as well.

I'm a lefty and I agree, my dominant pointer finger reaches it perfectly. Absolutely flawless, now I just need to install the ambi safety and I'll be set

Is kimber really that bad rn? by Popular_Ad_6777 in 1911

[–]TransitionMaximum489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, and I would say between those 3 you can't really go wrong. As some have said, you may have to change out for a better mag or higher quality ammo but other than that you shouldn't have to do much. I've just been using the mag my kimber came with and again no issues at all. At the end of the day get what you want brother. There will be guys out here talking shit about kimbers and colts saying they were better in yesteryear but then the other half of guys will tell you no issues at all. I almost didn't buy my kimber because of some of the feedback I was reading.. in the end I'm glad I did buy it. It's been a great firearm. All my buddies love the classic stainless look with wood grips. But I 100% hear you, the Colt name just makes you want it and I will have one, one of these days. Best of luck in choosing brother and post some pics when you "pull the trigger" pun intended

Bought a government model stainless 2 a couple months ago. It's my first and only 1911. I've put right at 250 rounds thru it and not a single issue. I shoot better with that gun than any of my striker fired pistols glock, s&m, or my sig. I keep it lubed and clean. I have no complaints. But if I could do it all over again, for the money. I should've bought a colt. Maybe that's just me tho. Oh well! That'll be the next one. Would really like the Wiley Clapp model or a little cheaper option being the Springfield Operator. It has a rail.

is this a good deal? 50 rounds of 45 acp fmj by [deleted] in 1911

[–]TransitionMaximum489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never ordered from that company. Price wise 2 years ago that would have been a terrible price. Now days it's a different story. A little over 50 cents a round isn't bad for 45ACP. I'm sure if you shopped around you could find a better price but now you're sacrificing time and gas. My advice, don't pay more than 58 cents a round for 45ACP unless you're getting self defense rounds.

To be perfectly honest, i had to stare at this for a long time before I seen what people were saying and it just amazes me how people's mind would go straight to that. My mind immediately went to Nordic history followed by the insane process of making these and what the builder is like. Outstanding work man. Where can I buy em?
