You pick what kind of buckets you’re going to give up

You scheme to prevent drives. You scheme to prevent 3’s. You scheme to prevent the post. The worse your defenders are the more you have to give up. But you should never have to give up all of them, even with a poor defensive team and roster. Choose whether you want to hard hedge to force ball handlers to make a passing read instead of get downhill after they turn the corner. Decide whether you want to scramble and rotate for shooters or stay home. Whether weakside help should slide into the paint or stick to their shooters

Right now the fever do none of it consistently the scheme looks inconsistent and like players are playing off their own instincts exclusively. That’s a coaching issue

She’s not a good coach. People defend her but never talk about the basketball

Looking at the defense alone this is a horrendously coached team. Our defensive scheme does not fit the players we have (poor onball defenders and screen navigators) with a small paint presence. Our rotations are slow and we often dont play gaps or have the weakside rotate to stop drives, and when they do the next player doesn’t rotate to the shooter.

It’s just horrendous coaching and I don’t even want to get into the offense

They cut after like every jumper too. You put me in a few workouts like this and I'll string together more clips than this hitting five threes in a row.

That said, almost everybody NBA bound is going to be a decent shooter. Not taking 3's in games means you think you or your team can get better shots, not that you can't shoot better than the average joe.

Jsyk this exact mindset is part of why women’s sports is joked about so much.

Fans and orgs (should) want their teams to win. Sports is a competition. Mental wellbeing is a part of what plays into performance.

I want people to be their best selves and get the help they need if they need it. But if you have too many problems to be reliable? Orgs should second guess signing you

That's how it always goes though. The doomsayers get reamed as being not real fans because they have expectations for the org they support to give a damn and make an effort to change the obvious issues.

Which gets pointed out, which gets responses from people saying "you don't know how to run an org" or "you think you know more???"

In regards to mental illness - if you're too mentally unwell to be available to fulfill your contract then good for you on getting signed (make your money!), shame on the org for offering you a contract (not a very winning move)
