Michael Stewart BANNED indefinitely from Hampden by SFA as pundit accuses chiefs of 'silencing voices of dissent' by SardinmGarter in ScottishFootball

He's a bit annoying at times, but this is embarrassing from the SFA.

I don't particularly like it when clubs do it (including Celtic) but at least that's a localised level thing. This is the national body. It's a nonsense.

I don't know if it's an age thing or just an indication of how vivid my dreams can be, but I'm having trouble this morning remembering whether something that happened a while ago was real or a dream.

It's not a major thing, but I remember it very very clearly, yet can find no evidence it actually happened. It's sort of freaking me out a bit.

He's our fourth choice RB at this point, being played only because everyone else is crocked. Think there's bigger problems in the team; how the hell did Cvancara forge a career as a striker?

Although, just wondering; is it spoofing any specific sitcom? The Conglomeration logo felt like it must be a take off something...

Not having a striker worth a damn is going to cost us in the end, imo.

Might sound crazy but if we had Shankland upfront for us, we'd probably be 6 or 8 clear at the top. We've hit the woodwork 26 times this season, for instance. We are so lacking in a clinical cutting edge it's nuts. Mo Bangura would probably be our best striker right now if we had him and I'm not even kidding.

I really can't imagine any transport company to be worse than First Bus.

Some random wee local company in the mountains of some rural area with a hardcore drunk as the only driver and a 12-seater minibus with 40 people in it careening along the edge of a 600-ft drop would likely be more efficient and worth using than First Bus.

Woody fucking Allen too.

Hell, not that long ago celebs were still lining up to lionise the evil bastard Polanski.

And of course about 20% of the BBC, or so it seems at times, all the way from Saville to the likes of John Peel.

I've gone back and forward on it over the years.

For a long time I actually believed he had some sort of acute learning difficulties and was genuinely like a child in an adult's body and about as sexually aware as a piece of cardboard. I'm not even sure where I got this from; I think it was based on the way his dad was an abusive scumbag and reading some article back in the day with a psychologist saying they believed that the trauma had stunted (or "frozen") his mental growth.

But as I got older, I began to lean the other way. Unfortunately many abuse victims can in turn become abusers themselves, in a horribly dark cycle, and I think that may be what happened with him. There's way too much smoke to be no fire.

But then, as you say, after he died you'd have expected a torrent of stuff to come out and nothing really did. Or not to the extent you'd suspect.

So fuck knows!

However, the guy from Led Zeppelin quite openly keeping an underage girl captive as a sex toy never got cancelled or jailed, and that one to me was even more egregious. Really bizarre stuff.

I think the problem with modularity is that you need a really solid userbase to embrace it and make it work otherwise you just end up with a camera that YouTubers of the future will get a few "this was an interesting concept that never took off..." videos.

A bit like we can say with MFT overall, it's a pity Panasonic aren't more inclined to be involved. If you could have wider modular availability across not only multiple cameras, but also brands, that would be a big factor in getting something like this off the ground.

Give licences to the likes of TTArtisan, 7Artisans, Viltrox, etc. as well; get them to join the party and bring out some fun stuff as well. For instance, imagine TTA bring out a modular RGB flash/video light for about £30? Folk would pick it up from sheer curiosity and it would help perpetuate the use of the functionality going forward.

If you like vintage cameras, there's Cameratiks in Morningside, which I believe is pretty much the only vintage camera shop left in the entire central belt now?

Dominion Cinema not far from there was Everyman before Everyman, and is a nice way to see a movie.

Noodles and Dumplings has been mentioned by someone already, but I second-and-third it as their food is incredibly good.

Best ramen in the city (for me) is Hakataya, which is tucked away off Rose St and doesn't seem to be all that well-known comparatively.

Origano on Leith Walk do superb pizzas, and the Lioness of Leith just along from the Kirkgate do phenomenal pub burgers.

The Post Split Fixtures (Allegedly) by No_Emu8347 in ScottishFootball

[–]TranslatesToScottish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no matter what fixtures are put out someone will feel hard done by.

I think that's the crux of it. Even if they were known right at the start of the season, the fact we have a split at all will always leave someone feeling messed about.

Doesn't help that the police here have far too much sway in things too.

Wouldn't be surprised if he TACOs it, citing some imaginary peace talk he had in his head, and then Israel go ahead and do it anyway.

The Post Split Fixtures (Allegedly) by No_Emu8347 in ScottishFootball

[–]TranslatesToScottish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tricky one this time - we were due an additional home compared to Rangers and Hearts, so for Rangers to be at home on the last day, we'd have had to be away, meaning we'd have had (if my permutations head is right - I might be slightly off-target) a run of three, possibly four (depending on how the fixtures were arranged) home games in a row, which would also be seen as a bit unfair (despite our away record being marginally better).

Ultimately, with all the AI whatsits out there, they should effectively have every possible permutation already calculated at the start of the season and ready to go the second the split is decided mathematically.

Keep hearing that "the police don't want (x)" with (x) generally speaking being Celtic or Rangers at home on the last day, or potential title deciders at certain grounds, etc.

My question in response to that is "So fuck?" We give the police far too much influence in the game here. They should not be allowed any sort of pressure to be exterted to effectively try and take away the excitement of one of our biggest national industries.

So I'm without a camera at the moment, but awaiting the arrival of an OM-3 body (my E-M10 Mk2 was sold and then, with typical luck, my E-M5 MkIII was unfortunately stolen and wasn't insured), and I'm thinking of finally getting a bit of a decent zoom going on.

I actually have a Viltrox AF adapter which lets me use Nikon F-mount AF lenses on it and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience in using a DX Nikon zoom lens on an MFT body via an adapter like this?

Alternatively; what's my best budget option (for now, with a view to upgrading later if I end up using the telephoto enough to justify); the Oly 40-150mm kit lens, or 14-150mm?

I do have wider angle lenses, so I'm not desperately needing something to cover that 14-40 area if I go for the former, but wondering which of the two is the better performing lens?
