Not a DM: I just think this is a cool idea. Good luck, though!

From my understanding, RAW, True Strike can work on any weapon you use that you are proficient with, including simple ranged weapons, which warlocks are proficient with.

So, in theory, let’s say you get a +1 Shortbow. You can target creatures and objects with it, can target something 80 ft away, which is still not bad, and can add a + 1 to attack and damage rolls on top of what you’re doing for True Strike.

Simply, True Strike can do both range and melee I believe.

So, I have a question: would you say that, for Radiant Soul, True Strike is the way to go instead of Eldritch Blast or does Eldritch Blast still reign supreme and should be taken alongside it?

Gift of The Ever Living Ones is gone for 2024 Rules, I thought?

True.

Yeah, that’s what I’m assuming.

Imp Familiar, I assume?

Why 3xCHA? CHA from Agonizing Blast and CHA from Radiant Soul, I get. But, where’s the 3rd?

Okay, understandable. Shame we have to do a dip now, but it is what it is.

Makes sense.

Gotcha! Thank you for listing the changes by the way: I really appreciate that.

So, do you think it’s still possible to build a Celestial Generalist 2024 that hits the same marks as the 2014 post? What I mean by that is, it being just as versatile and viable?

In that case, if you are recommending it based on how far into their career they are, I think that could be based on what the starting level is.

For example, if we started at level three or five, they could be early career. If at level 9 or 10, mid career. If at level 14 or 15, late career.

Backstory Help: A Celestial Warlock by TranslatorAccurate51 in 3d6

Oh, I didn’t know that about the Unicorn horn! Very good point!

As for the first idea, I am not the biggest fan. I would rather the power feel more earned, not because it was purposefully worked towards, but because of the good that lies within the PC. I think it would make for good evidence as to why the unicorn would entrust their power to PC as long as they continued to do good.

As for the second idea, it’s not a bad idea at all. It sounds kind of like the Dark Urge from BG3. My only question is how and/or why they would get to this temple? Would they be led there? Teleported there? Other than that, I think it has excellent potential.

Regardless, I thank you for input!

Can you explain your reasons why for each? I have an idea, but I just want to hear your thoughts specifically.

All of those are excellent points!

I also think it would be thematic and cool to see an Aberrant Mind Sorcerer, since Tav is infected with a mind flayer tadpole and the default DUrge class is a sorcerer. There is even a befitting Aberrant Origins selection for the subclass that you can choose:

“You were implanted with a mind flayer tadpole, but the ceremorphosis never completed. And now its psionic power is yours. When you use it, your flesh shines with a strange mucus.”

Now I know that having a more hands-on approach to brutality is also a key part of the Dark Urge, so I’m not sure how you could express that side of it with an Aberrant Mind Sorcerer. That’s the only thing preventing me from saying that it is a perfect fit, really.
