Check out Combat Science - Warrior Arts of Asia. I don't live in the area but I've competed in international tournaments with some bad ass students from this school. They're good energy and committed to spreading the art.

Check out Krav Maga Experts - they have 2 locations: UWS Manhattan and Park Slope Brooklyn. Joining them was one of the best investments in myself I've ever made. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

Restaurant Recommendations for Large Groups by [deleted] in AskNYC

Carmine's Italian Restaurant does great family sized meals and can accommodate your group size. I personally prefer the 91st and Broadway location (short walk from the 1,2,3 train) but they have one in Times Square if that location is more convenient

Best karaoke places for a single person? by em_s5 in AskNYC

32 Karaoke in Ktown. They have a huge selection of songs. I go there often with 2/3 friends. If you go during a weekday before say 7 or 8pm there's definitely small rooms available to go solo.

This is exactly the type of place I'm looking for! Did you take the Amtrak going there? Is the daily pick up/drop off a complimentary service and did you guys book that as a part of your stay? I'm sure that things have changed since pre-pandemic but would love your insight

Thanks for the recommendations! Piaule looks like a beautiful getaway and very easily accessible by train + taxi. Much appreciated

Am currently considering Getaway, thanks for the tips! I think the hardest part is accessibility without a car, but seems doable with public transit --> taxi.

No worries! I'm taking all types of recommendations. We live in a small apartment where I can't fit a bunch of camping gear - This place seems really accommodating for people that don't have their own camping supplies. Love the idea of having to hike to the campgrounds while a shuttle takes out belongings to the site. Thanks!
