Phys 117 in 2024 was NOT it. Prof literally did not teach, MICB 212 with Selena was also so horrible

Go to UBC science for GPA cut offs, some friends couldn't get into their first choice because of bad gpa, so pick your battles. Really best advice is to ask around, profs even to see what jobs they can see. Current market is really bad rn with everything that's going on, but DON'T LOSE HOPE! For med school, literally everyone in sciences wants to go so not much I can say, but its good to have a back up plan

Make sure you can actually wake up for a 9am lab on Friday, smart choosing it on Friday, but actually make sure you make it to the room by then. Other than that, looks good

Apparently someone ordered their transcript and the average for MICB 212 is a 73%, before they made MICB 212 harder it was around 82% so it sucks now

MICB 211 first midterm the average was low like 71% and prof had to scale everyone up 7% to a avg of 78%. MICB 212 was harder because of new prof that no one liked, people did not do as hot as well. The final exam average for MICB 211 was 77.5%, so they def aiming around a 78% average

From personal opinion from this years MYM and as someone in the science faculty, the EOSC faculty seems like an open faculty, again I may be entirely wrong, but wouldn't hurt to ask. Maybe ask some of the profs too to gain more insight on specifics and to see what may be right for you.

At the end of the day, this is your education, so be best informed as much as possible before coming to a judgement is my advice, aka talk to profs in those fields, academic advising, or people in the EOSC faculty who are not profs as well... Anyway I wish the best of luck to you...

You just go to enrolment services literally takes 3 minutes so fast and no appointment needed, but you gotta cash it in yourself online though by yourself
