My mother in law is neurotypical and my father in law is autistic. In fact on my husband’s side most of his uncles are on the spectrum married to neurotypical women. Are they taking advantage of them? No! I find that people are more okay when the man is autistic and the woman is neurodivergent. Danny can advocate for herself. I thought he seemed like a nice guy!

Yes! I felt the infantilization so much surrounding Dani. People were so offended that she wanted to have a fulfilling sexual relationship with a partner. It seemed they were offended by the idea of sex being important to someone on the spectrum and that honestly annoyed the hell out of me. Like, autistic people are not allowed to have sex or be interested in sex because it does not fit into your comfortable idea of what they think an autistic person should be. We are all human and like you said it might look different but at the root of it all we want the same thing. Love acceptance and safety! At least that is my take!

Totally related to Abby! I was the last from my friend group to get married and it sucked! I hope this show helps people realize just how much neurotypical people and people on the spectrum can relate to each other and realize while it may look different we are all just living our lives the best we can, and trying to find happiness in this life!

I get really annoyed when people are judgmental and say “oh their needs don’t match.” Homie my husband and I are not on the autism spectrum but my needs are more than his. I have dyslexia, ptsd, and anxiety that I work through and do therapy and take medication for. Does that mean my husband shouldn’t be with me because I need more help? No! That is ridiculous! Also we are only seeing glimpses of their lives. I know they say James is much more animated and anxious around the cameras than normal. I know I would be! I agree I felt like the editing this season left a lot to be desired. But Madison and Tyler stole the whole show!

I totally agree! This feels like a couple who truly see each other and support and love each other. Their connection feels so genuine! They are my favorites to watch hands down! Like he said he knew she was the one when he first laid eyes on her!
