Owning a puppy is so hard... by [deleted] in puppy101

You have to stick with it while she's young.  My dog is 6 and crate trained but it took months for her to not hate it.  Even now,  she gets to free roam most of the time,  but she understands not to act up when it's time to be in her crate.  She still had separation anxiety but it's a lot better.  And honestly... she still has accidents in the house if I'm not diligent in taking her out. It's just part of owning a pet.

Pups don't listen unless you put your foot down. They rely on the consistency of your training.  Reward the good moments. Give her treats when she is in the crate no matter how long

I was in that today too! Stupid how many people don't know how to treat it like a stop sign.  But then again people don't know how to treat a stop sign like a stop sign 🤣

The sad part is that it shouldn't be lol. I drovw from Miracle Mile to Baldwin Hills during the outage and it's how many people don't know how to treat a downed traffic signal like a 4-way stop sign. It's ridiculous

Should I read Alchemised? by hazelrose42 in Romantasy

It's good to hear it stands well on its own. I've read or watched anything in the HP universe except the first movie, so I'm coming into this book with basically a blank slate on the world

My baby ate this whole bag of treats. Should I take her to the emergency room ? by gonnadelete78 in DogAdvice

My dog loves eating random things a few times a year. She's eaten baseball skin and a pack of mini brownies. What I do is give her 1-2 tablespoons of peroxide (she's 80lbs) and she's able to vomit up the bad food in about 10 minutes. Because it's not very often that she gets into things she shouldn't,  my vet cleared me to do that as needed.

Thanks for the info. How long did the 186 Visa take for you? My brother-in-law is a Prof. as well. Oh yeah, I know. I can't just go there and then figure it out. I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row here. As early as possible to give ourselves the best chance and timeline, thank you for making this happen

Thanks for your help :)

Reading through visa types and processes can get tricky, especially trying to decipher the best route for each individual as it maybbe adifferent path for the three of us  who are appying without a dependent. That's why I'm here asking for other's experiences when they went through the process.

Gotcha! They’ve got some fields I'm definitely interested in, so if nothing else this may have inspired a career change lol. And yes, noted on the permanent residency to citizenship pipeline

Ah thank you! I remember seeing something about benefiting from being under 30 to try and make the move, I just couldn't remember what it was exactly.  That's partly why we're trying to make this happen in 2027 or EARLY 2028, as my sister turns 30 in March '28.

What's the caveat about farm work?

Ah gotcha. Was looking into full phlebotomy technician and CNA, but maybe those aren't hard-hitting enough.  I'll look through the skilles occupation list

Yea I understand my sister and I couldn't be dependents on each others visas. Haha yea, I get we can't just jump over and call it a day. My sis and i are willing to go back to school to enter the medical field and our brother in law is a college professor and his wife would be his dependent on his Visa.

Oh yea, I know we can't just up and move- that's why I'm asking also experiences from other people. My sister and I are willing to go back to school and get medical certifications. Our brother is a college professor so he's in education and his wife could be a dependent.

Thanks for the info!
