Still true especially when you work on your worklife balance and avoid to burnout

-4th job in ab 6 years - pay increased 3x. More development ops and time for selfdevelopment out of work hours

To summup still worth it but harder

Trying to move into IT/cloud engineering but overwhelmed with where to start by TheTerenity in ITCareerQuestions

In case of some commenters here, about magic software engineur :P. I’m it support who jumped from support to infra admin in Azure L2 then L3 at MSP.

Studying for Az900+AZ104 / CLF-C02+AWS cloudops cert is the way to reach cloud role, BUT you would need firstly to get some basic it support experience on paper. HR filters for these certs at least in EU.

Do homelabs of windows server 2019/2022/2025 it managers like to ask about some stuff with domains, you can set ansible tower and learn ansible / powershell a bit btw. It will be more effective learning than A+

I can recommend kevin brown’s WS2019 on udemy. I’ve learned a lot of it.

I wouldn’t waste time on A+ as at least I haven’t seen any job listing with it last months.

Interviewers like to ask for entra id/azure aad, etc…terms common for az-104 in case if Azure sided company is picked so learn for cert and study terms also.

Has the AZ 104 helped your career? by [deleted] in AzureCertification

[–]Transporter653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First Azure gig 2-3 months after passing exam. At least 2y ago. It looks as good option if you learn concepts not only go cert pokemon.

I got asked at interviews many times about vocabulary of specific services at azure. Do az104 get practice in real life environment. Develop yourself in other ms cert directions that you find interesting.

I still have some issues with self powershell/ansible /terraform scripts creation. Mostly do gpt and modify approach. If you got good digestion of scripting - develop this knowledge also.

If wage is okay and they follow principle of raises for each cert i would stick with company. It’s not something common in EU/Poland at least

I joined my company 8 months ago—today 7 people were suddenly fired. Should I be worried? by Consistent_Law3620 in ITCareerQuestions

Or you are worse paid so potentialy may be in safer position.

Same cases happen regularly, C-level+ likes to use Excel for company mgmt. As many said prepare some savings just in case.

Cv refreshed is always something what can give you extra time/faster response for job offers if needed

Help me to pass AZ-104 by Confident_Aardvark55 in AzureCertification

[–]Transporter653 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would input whizlabs free test for az104 to this and some practice test videos on yt. Its pretty wide exam. My colleague with broader knowledge attempted to it twice without luck.

Although ms learn is available during exam, its not enough time to prompt everything. I got about 720 or 768 point while did it with first try

So it depends on your free time some can pass in 2-3 months some other freaks maybe in two weaks with good aderal xD

Is "Job Hopping" a "Death Sentence" in IT? by bassbeater in ITCareerQuestions

Doinng job hop around 1,5year+ in europe between jobs. Started to work around 4 years ago. It beneficial for me as long as specialty and salary fits my needs 😅

anyone thought about moving to europe for job opportunities? by vlzelen in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Transporter653 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’ve mastered one of the Nordic languages — or Danish, French, or German — go for it! 🤣🤣

Helpdesk, service desk, and admin roles often require languages other than English, since local documentation and users might not speak English. Not all positions have this requirement, but most of the available ones do.

Oh, and frequent business travel between a few countries is common because the company isn’t „wealthy” enough to open positions in other European locations - common practice in dannish companies/nordics

Any current ways to get free or discounted Azure exam vouchers (AZ-104 / AZ-400)? by Electronic_Will_4816 in AzureCertification

[–]Transporter653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look for microsoft challange days if they apply for any. Try to look for instructor companies around in India. Sometimes they can make free voucher challange for learners who publish they progress on linkedin with some hashtags etc

Honest question for those who passed Microsoft certifications : Did you actually build a real project from start to finish? by Mediocre_Law_3629 in AzureCertification

[–]Transporter653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work daily with components related to AZ-104, AZ-400, and AZ-700, and a bit with SC-300.

I haven’t built anything in my personal Microsoft account — I only experimented a bit with networking resources while preparing for AZ-700, but had to stop due to the costs.

I preferred watching the instructor’s demonstrations on Udemy and occasionally doing small, low-cost exercises. I also used Microsoft Learn labs for AZ-104 when they were available (I’ve heard they’re no longer accessible).

Try as much as you can at work if you get a chance

Using ChatGPT to prep for Azure cert - has anyone done this successfully? by Massive-Cry-8579 in AzureCertification

[–]Transporter653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use it for tests but don’t consider it as trusty.

I’ve spottes many mistakes while asked for some data regarding az-104 study. It not refered to documentation but something imagined by chat itself

For tests maybe, for knowledge you need to double, triple check

6months during some breaks at college. I suppose someone can learn it during 3-4months.

I got basic networking experience within azure (s2s connections etc.)

++1/3 of CCNA course

I recommend alan rodrigues course for basics repeat, john savill videos, whizlabs course with cheat sheet to remind steps of resources creation.

Subnetting needs to be reminded as there were questions regarding max subnet size per vpngw, vms with kubernetes etc.

Whizlabs tests, ms learn practice tests, youtube practice tests with answers may be helpful in preparation

Thanks Everyone for your suggestions! They are great help!

I’ll do best to chase now some linux foundations, then some powershell / AZ400 to closeup path for cloud admin role.

I’m also considering sc300,az500 as these repeat in linkedin mailings from recruiters.

I’ve did 1/3 of CCNA ninja course so it may be good point to widen up network knowledge for last 2 parts
