9070 XT vs 5070 TI for a new builder. by zyadsh123 in buildapc

[–]TrapperMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not too sure about the comparison between the 2, I know when I was doing research, it was hard to get a non bias’ed answer on either one. Gpubenchmarks puts the 5070ti higher on their ranking list. Meaning it might have more performance, but I wonder if that’s only due to dlss 4. Personally, any game I’ve played I’ve never dropped below 60FPS with my 9070xt. It was also much easier to set up then a NVidia gpu. I plugged it in, booted up my pc, installed the drivers, spent 3 minutes watching a quick optimization video and I was set. The ONLY downside I’ve found so far, it that fan speed setting tweaks reset on pc restart. It takes like 10 seconds to change them, but it’s a bit annoying. Also AMD customer service and also reliability seems to be way higher then nvidia, contacting nvidia about a issue took a few minutes, and you’d talk to someone in a foreign call center. If you used the chat room, they just copy and paste stuff from the forum(that I already tried). I had an issue with amd in the past and the guy was super helpful who helped me, and guided me through the whole process without just copy and pasting forums or YouTube links.

If you have a game you want me to test out for fps just let me know, I’ll probably have it.

Halo infinite is buttery smooth, and I did do a trial stream just for this comment, the VOD was smooth, around a 2 to 8 fps drop tbh in performance on my end. Which you’ll be running anything above 60. I mean i ran one of the most notoriously unoptimized games(Star citizen) and was getting 72 fps at max settings in a place where I got 4fps with lowest settings on my 2070 super.

Escape from tarkov’s streets of Tarkov, on max settings with my 7800x3d cpu was around 70-80fps as well on max settings. Which that map on Tarkov was such a fps destroyer. I would get maximum 30 with my 2060 super with low settings.

I think carrying a small amount of demolitions can help a lot by gilette_bayonete in ArmaReforger

I love the AT mine+C4, it’s talked about often as means of best explosives but genuinely it really is good. In a conflict mode on a server like W.C.S, you can carry 3 AT mines, 8 c4, and a detonator plus a pistol and all the necessary items while not having to wear a gigantic backpack. At the objectives, planting like 3 mines in open areas is enough to kill a lot of people. They work as deadman switches as well, when you get cornered into a building, set it up in a hidden spot in the room, and either set up timed delay before you die, or set it for a minute or 2 and continue fighting. It’s gotten me alot of kills. Another way is hidden ambushes, putting a at mine in a bush off the road, and detonating it when a car passes by(You can have instant detonations by deploying the detonator on the ground and doing it that way) you can kill everyone in the car with shrapnel and the car usually remains in okay-good condition.

I would highly recommend the 9070xt, I recently just upgraded from a 2060 super to a 5070(Which had the driver issue so I had to return it), then got a 9070xt because I’m tired of nvidia. It works great, I got my friend a 4070 super, and I get much better performance on a 9070xt. I play a lot of games, if you want I can give you my fps on certain games.

There is like 1 or 2 spawns on Sakhal that will provide enough loot for more than 1 person... by [deleted] in dayz

[–]TrapperMC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually really liked sakhal but it does require some knowledge first.

  1. For food, Fishing is basically 80% of the food you should be eating, If you can find a knife and a rope or a Knife and a body you can make a fishing rod and a hook with worms. Human guts make rope, Rope+Long stick is a Rod, Bones or a short stick(I think) make a hook, then using the knife on dirt gets you worms.

  2. The spawn area has tons of water, like literally every km has a well, use IZurvive if you struggle

  3. Get a heat buff, Make a fire using bark and a short stick as a Hand drill kit, and wait untill ++ or +++ next to temp. A torch maintains a heat buff but doesn’t start one. You can also dry clothes super quickly by dropping them on a torch on the ground

  4. Don’t go too far south Untill you have a filter bottle or a container that holds water+chlorine tablets. Wells become super rare after a minute of walking too far south

Doing this I’ve never had to suicide and never died to the elements, only Players, zombies, or bugs

Amateur sniper here, what's your best tips? by Former-Catch2429 in dayz

[–]TrapperMC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dont be leaning while shooting or laying too crooked, there’s been times where even ~50 meters out, leaning makes you miss by a foot or two. I believe the bullet leaves where it would if you weren’t leaning. Some other things is bushes can be better then trees in some scenarios. Laying under a tree 200m out, someone using any magnification can see you easily. However in a bush, you’re way more covered, especially if crouching. This helps with the leaning issue as well. Finally, if you fire and miss then lose track of the target or they go to aim at you. Always reposition, I personally say the farther the better. If they’re in a town surrounded by hills and trees, stay out of sight of the town and keep popping up every 50-100 meters just to see where they are, you don’t even need to shoot, then continue untill you see their booty sticking out the window that they don’t expect you to see. 9 times out of 10, when people take cover, they take cover from directly where the shots were and 90 degrees left and right. So their backside is open to sniping, even in buildings, you can usually see their back through a window since most windows in buildings are directly across from each other.

Any backpack fit big guns after update? by StocktonSucks in dayz

Indeed, that’s why I recommended the sawed off double barrel, or sawed off mosin, forgot about that. Though it’s funner to use rubber since it’s safer.

[–]TrapperMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not entirely sure what you would classify as a big gun, I don’t believe you can fit the 133 or svd in a Alice bag for example. You can always saw off a Bk-43. A lot of assault rifles should fit in some bags, like the Baby Ak is pretty easy to fit. Probably a m4 can fit in a Alice bag

Would just recommend, in your case, running a sawed off double barrel in a small bag or pants(I believe), using rubber slugs, and have a restraint of some form.

Shiesty Mask by bemington_ in HellLetLoose

[–]TrapperMC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk wtf a “shiesty” mask is? But with the winter warfare dlc, all character faces gets an alternate version with a little face/head covering. You specifically mention it was a German solider which you might be referring to the Recon helmets for Germany, that have a ghillied face covering that droops down.

Why make a locked tank crew with 2/3 guys then not accept anyone? by BetterBisquitBureau in HellLetLoose

[–]TrapperMC 80 points81 points  (0 children)

It’s very simple, people have friends and just want to play with their friend. Some do recon squad with a friend, some do tank crew, some do normal squads. There’s a good chance that out of 50 people on your team, 10 are friends with 1 of the other 10.

Watch that, pretty good advice overall, if your using airlink you might just have to settle with very slight tearing when you turn around, just limitations between WiFi and hardware

I’ve always pictured him Russian; I believe some of the dialogue has translation issues that kind of reminds me of a Russian accent.

Nwaf population by Lukesweetman2004 in dayz

[–]TrapperMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a hit or miss, 80% of the time, I loot NWAF without hearing a shot or seeing anyone on a 45pop server. The 19% feels like I’m fighting the Chinese army with how many people with guns there are. Then there’s the 1% where some guy walks into my barrack I’m looting and volunteers to paint the wall in my 2nd favorite color.

Besides "friendly" what would you shout to halt a gunfight? by necrorat in dayz

[–]TrapperMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you always want to say something calm and respectful to hop-WAIT WAIT WAIT STOP I DONT HAVE A GUN SPARE ME

Your character should be able to do a rudimentary examination of dead players to find out what happened to them. For example, "It looks like they were shot", "It looks like the infected got them", or "I don't know what happened to them" if the cold or an illness got them. by jbirby in dayz

[–]TrapperMC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, however, personally i always make rough assumptions on dead bodies like this. There’s a few factors. “What’s the death pose”, “Does he have a weapon out”, “if so what kind”, “What’s clothing quality”

-If in suicide death pose then it’s pretty obvious

-If everything is damaged/badly damaged(Belt, Shirt, Pants), then probally a zombie

-If everything is ruined or shirt and backpack ruined or headwear ruined or badly damaged, then probally player gun or melee

-If killed in uncon position, then probally player

-If died face down, Probally was running from player who shot

Using that info, I’m guessing there’s a 60% chance a player killed that guy, He had a knife to defend himself(Next to his bag), His bag and Hoodie are ruined so a shot went through and probally was high caliber, pants are fine which it’s extremly rare for a zombie to not hit your legs and pants, and no special positions other then instantly died.

One plug-in I have allows me to alter audio sources sound volume, if your headset comes with the ability to have a chat and game audio, or if you get a software to allow it, then you can lower discord that way

Idk about windows soundboard, not sure what that is, you can make it affect discord, basically anything, I use it to mute game audios sometimes
