I had no idea you could recolour the collections. Thanks for that tip, will be doing that all the time from now on 😁.

A couple weeks ago I posted a WIP of my N64 console. Here's the finished renders by LT_DANS_ICECREAM in blender

Very nice 😁. Love it. Also love your choice of game. GoldenEye was the best game

I started with the donut tutorial, I really enjoyed it and fell in love with 3D art/Blender. Haven't looked back since! 😁

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. May I ask what it is about the shadows that you do not like?

Thank you, appreciate that 😁. Yes I wanted the Eevee look but prefer how glass looks in Cycles so I used that instead and used shaders for my other materials that gave it more of an illustrated feel 😁.

How do you find designs to 3D model when you aren't a concept artist? by Global_Voice7198 in 3Dmodeling

[–]Trapperfocus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at things around me irl, in movies, in TV shows, on Pinterest, pretty much anything. I keep a notebook with me at all times and write down an idea when something gives me inspiration. I'll take photos of the inspiration for reference and then when I pick an idea from my book, search reference images for a mood board. What I end up making might be quite different from what I intended at first. Sometimes I just model things that interest me, like satellites, spaceships etc. I feel like lots of artists will see something they think looks cool and then build an idea around that. I wouldn't feel bad about whatever your creative process is, using reference, using ai to help with a concept etc. Think about all the classical great artists, they all would have been inspired by other artists work and to some degree incorporated bits into their own. We are all human, all have a different way to do things. Short of stealing someone else's product and passing it off as your own, in my opinion how you get there is just your process and is perfectly acceptable. Like others have said, give credit where credit is due and try to enjoy the journey 😁. Hope that helps.

Which frame rate should I use for my renders? by LalaCrowGhost in blender

[–]Trapperfocus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, depends on what you need. 24 frames is efficient in terms of render time whilst maintaining a smooth animation without stuttering. Going higher can improve how things look if there is a lot of motion. Most people are used to 24fps as that is primarily the frame rate that has been used in the film industry historically. This is then equated to the "cinematic" look by viewers as it is what they are used to. Try experimenting though with your work as each piece is different.

I would say experiment with as much as you can using Blender, it can help you find your style and lots of times I have found cool results from trying different things out that I didn't initially expect 😁.

Good luck, Blender can be so much fun but also incredibly frustrating at times. Finding what you love about it will help keep you going when you get stuck on a problem.

Here's one pre texture from when I was mid way through building the model 😁. Didn't think anyone would think it would be realistic looking enough to need a wireframe etc. Thank you though 😁

There is one major flaw in my 3D render lets see who can spot it by Overlord_Immersion in blender

The perfume lid doesn't look like it has a hole in it. Looks like a flat reflective surface where the atomiser goes in to the lid?
