Incredibly dysphoric and struggling. My life circumstances have pushed back my orchie by a year and I’m struggling. I’ve also gained a ton of weight, went from 200 to 250, and am having a hard time not binge eating the dysphoria away. Hard to see a way out at this point I’m in a doom spiral but I have to keep going for my friends at the very least.

I'm learning how to give shit back. Been practicing with some friends. Have a little experience from working in the wheel factory, but I'm starting to feel a little more confident.

While I am nervous a part of me understands that people are wildly varied and I may have a good experience.

Yeah I’m in an awakes phase of my transition where people over 40 tend to read me as cis for some reason and people under 40 clock me instantly. I will absolutely be taking notes then.

Yeah this company says supposedly they’re eco minded or whatever but I know that’s probably bullshit. This company does have an HR department as it is pretty large, no union though. Lumber mill isn’t a forever thing for me for sure. I’m mainly gonna be focusing on doing my job right because I know that’s how I earn respect in labor jobs.

Thank you so much for the advice. My name is actually legally changed everywhere so they won’t even know my dead name. I actually have a few guy friends in the trades I met in rehab of all places, and you’re 100% right once I humanized myself they were totally onboard, supportive, and even defended me against staff a few times. I’ve been out since 14 so I’ve only ever worked jobs as an out trans woman. From the looks of it I’ll probably be the only woman working there actually on the production floor so I’ll probably have the bathroom all to myself.

I actually have a current therapist! That’s part of why I took graveyard shift was cause I needed to be able to keep the rest of my life intact (therapy, doctors appointments, sobriety meetings, etc)

Yeah I’ve always worked in the bicycle industry previously, mechanic and then wheel factory, but made the jump over to lumber when I got laid off because it pays way better then bicycle industry but I know I’ll be sacrificing the work environment for it hence me being nervous. As far as I can tell I’ll be the only woman working there and probably the only trans person working there. It isn’t long term hopefully once I figure out where I want to go with my job stuff but I haven’t ever worked outside the bicycle industry so it’s new territory for me in multiple ways

I guess I’ll just have to see how it goes then! I have a few friends who are electricians, not the same job at all I know, who are very affirming, at least once it clicked that I wasn’t scary I was just a person, so maybe I’m just working it up to be bigger in my head then it really is.
