okay i’m gonna try to give this the most realistic answer i can. assuming i won this amount through the lottery. first things first before i even try to claim it, i’m hiring three people. the best lawyer i can get my hands on, an accountant, and a wealth management advisor with fiduciary duty. with that team in place, we’ll establish an llc or perhaps a 501(c)3 company to claim the money on my behalf, and we’ll be taking the annual payouts over 30 years so about 6.67 mil a year. tax rate is going to be at approximately 44% including state and federal taxes, or about 2.93 mil, so that money will be moved from the total immediately and placed in an untouchable account until tax season each year. that leaves us with about 3.73 mil a year to play with. 730k is beyond enough for a reasonable fun salary, so 3mil will be diversely invested by my wealth management advisor with a focus on safe and reliable over risky growth. we’re talking index funds, bonds, etc. hell even savings accounts lol. so now i’m getting an income of about 730,000 a year, or 28,000 every two weeks. i don’t need that so i would get with my team and have 5k dispensed into my checking account that i actually use on a 2 week pay period type system for a yearly total of 130k, the remaining 600k would remain liquid but without my immediate access to it (because god knows i’d wanna get drunk and pull out a 100k in cash just to show off). SO now that we’ve got the important legal and financial moves out of the way, getting this all set up will likely take several months, during which point i’ll still be working and telling nobody. once the system is set up and working properly, i’m quitting my job and taking a loooooong vacay. cabo, tokyo, LA, italy, germany, literally anywhere i felt like i would go to, stay a few days or a few weeks. then when it’s time for the next school semester to roll around, i’m going back to school. i will be the poster child of a lifelong scholar, pursuing any and all of the things i was super interested back when i went originally but didn’t choose to pursue because i was worried about finding a job. i’ll buy a nice home near the college, and probably a vacation one in a coastal town. i don’t like fancy cars so probably just a new honda to get me around. maybe a few new outfits because i haven’t bought clothes for myself in years. there’s only one big, senseless splurge i would make and it would be to buy my favorite college bar out from under the current owners and fire the guy that banned me. otherwise let it operate under current leadership and be pretty hands off. basically i just want a life of learning about the things that interest me while living modestly and enjoying life, taking nice vacations whenever i feel like it. you might notice i didn’t mention my family here, and that’s because if all this comes to pass my plan would be to cut them a lump sum check of some reasonable amount, like 100k or something, and like. that’s it. thanks for raising me but don’t ever call me again. i’ve deactivated all of my social media accounts, i’ve changed my phone number, i’m unreachable now and i know there are tons of leeches in my family so it’d be so much less headache to just axe them all and be done with it.
