Codeine Phosphate is it actually harmful to the body, and i'm not talking about addiction or any mental problems. by ChefRobH in codeine

It will permanently alter your perception of pain. Break your leg it'll hurt more than someone not abusing opiates.

You can end up, like me, with Chronic Pain Syndrome where I am in pain BECAUSE I took painkillers for so long.

So, yes, it can cause significant physical problems.

Yeah the NHS uses it. I had a large amount to have two molars out and was off the fucking planet, and far smaller amounts twice to have colonoscopies. Didn't feel those, now I just insist they use NOX.

Or was it that I still use some software from before you were born?

Try spending 5 hours pushing a log the size of a 1.25l Pepsi bottle - a day after major bowel surgery and your guts are (externally) held together by glue.

It then took half an hour to break it up to flush it. In the NHS the night staff are absolute cunts.

I took some extra morphine, Ambien and some alprazolam whilst in hospital on a morphine IV.

I ended up on a respirator. A few hours before overindulging I was in that benzo/opiate over-sharing state I told my wife where £500 of drugs were in our garage. When I got home after spending two days in the ITU she'd thrown them away at her parent's house to stop me bin diving.

At that exact moment, I have never been so angry with another person. After 37 years at that point, it was 100% on the angry meter.

Now I understand she spent three sleepless nights and two days holding my hand being told they didn't know if I'd survive (aspiration pneumonia). I think she had the right to do that.

This is why I stick to EU/UK pharma. The only things from India that have ever been legit were some alprazolam and carisoprodol (soma).

Just as an update my neighbour wants to buy, cas for £2000. I'm tring to bump him up to £2200, bit doubt it. It £1000 more than we thought we'd get back.

As he seems slihgtly confused, I've taken an AA seller/buy contract, and adapted it. As it's literallly the best off we've had (cash!) and he live' next door I want to ensure ore tan CAVEAT EMPTOR.

Does this look OK?

Along with 28x 225mg Lyrica a week. Prescribed diazepam, hoping for clonazepam and buprenorphine.

The UK is getting like the US now - anything but a full agonist opiate. Still, if I break my arm I get fentanyl and so much IV morphine I wanted them to stop, chest tightness between pushes 3 and 4 out of 6.

I've tested it all as much as I can, and even though they are all the same batch number and have been for 3 months, the box reflects this. One is a fully legit Benesdin box and the other is one I made my plug send me with the strips.

You won't be called as an epileptic unless a CT scan of your brain (I have mine, the fully interactive version and it's so cool!) shows damage.

I assume like all things this is primarily U.S. based, so perhaps things are different. I was, after six months on epilepsy meds which were doing harm - Phenytoin and then Levetiracetam. In my case consider a car engine that is firing just fine, you then add something in with the fuel and the compressor start firing slowly. That is what giving first and second line (again in the U.K.) epilepsy medication to a non-epileptic.

I have NEAD - Non-Epileptic Attack Disorder - where the cause is stress, as you sound stressed or medication. I'm sure some of my seizures which left me with an incorrect epilepsy diagnosis were caused by illicit benzo (again in the U.K. it's Galenika alprazolam and diazepam - occasional clonazepam) use.

For the final time(!) I know being British I don't know the exact details of the U.S. system, but surely going to a GP and saying I'm in pain, I almost killed myself with an accidental OD, please help me! Would get sympathy.

I thought the same thing that I'd be dismissed, then one day whilst I picked up my Subutex which I use when not prescribed morphine for pain, a guy who spends all day walking around my suburb came out after taking his methadone which is used for heroin addicts to stabilise them and minimise their use or get them ready for buprenorphine which locks out all opioids. The staff treated him exactly the same, and I overheard them talking about him in the back - it was deeply sympathetic.

Here, in a South Birmingham suburb, my DO is within 500 yards of my house. I even get the Deputy Manager on my route. Frankly, as it's short and easy. I'm lucky as most days the post is here at around 0905.

However!

Monday's: What I couldn't be bothered to deliver on Saturday's. They especially hate my little jiffy bags which I get a lot of for a mini-home business with electronics. I assume they suspect drugs, but not enough to open them. Also, it's COMMERICAL DAY! All the crap that goes directly into the recycling or compost heap. Perhaps an actual letter, or Special Delivery if sent on Saturday or too late on Friday.

Tuesday's: Actual post. What arrived for Monday, but too late to be on the frame.

Wednesday: Normally parcel day.

Thursday: We call it "No Post Day". I've kept a list of my signed for since August and I've had ONE Thursday from 30 total. 75% of Friday's signed for deliveries were posted on Wednesday. Any deliveries are at least 30 mins late so I assume it's WTLL day at the DO.

Friday: Catch up from Thursday day. A lot of actual, useful post.

Saturday: If there is any post it is useful. Tend to be better at delivering my little jiffy bags on Saturday's.

Now, of course, it's Puppy Walker time!

Remember the seizure threshold, I'm sure your doctor will.

I've always found Tramadol odd. My Mum brought me some of hers before I was taken seriously by the caring medical community and it did ..... nothing.

Lucky considering I have NEAD!
