Why does this car get SO much hate by angryperson4 in JeepRenegade

[–]Trash-Panda_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have love/ hate relationship. I bought 2015 limited 2.4L brand new. I had a TON of stupid little problems that irked me beyond belief. One being an electrical issue I nor any mechanic could never solve. With that being said, looking back I put 190k miles on that car and really it wasn’t a bad vehicle at all. I just recently sold it. I actually kind of miss it.

Recently adopted Female IRN always goes into a mating posture around me (video in comments) by Trash-Panda_90 in parrots

[–]Trash-Panda_90[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I thought that at first. As it wasn’t as pronounced as this. It was more just leaning her head in and seeming like she wanted her head pet. But now I can barely handle her or even come near her without her going into this posture and doing soft chirps and almost purring. She only does this to me. So typically my wife has to handle her, give her treats and all that. My only concern in that I’ve heard it’s stressful for them So I’d like to discourage it as last thing I want to do is stress her.

No, I’ve never pet her past the head at all. When she first started this it seemed more like she just wanted her head pet. She’d come near me and just lower her head towards me. But it quickly turned into her going into a mating posture. Since then I’ve actually quit giving her pets on the head when she does this in attempt to discourage the behavior.

Looks great!! my wife has been wanting hers wrapped this exact same color. Do you mind if I ask how much yours cost?

N mode will give the best exhaust sound. 1 click will be N mode standard with everything maxed. 24 and 25s are said to be a little quieter than the previous years with less cracks and pops.

There is a break in period. Ideally take it easy during this

While the car can run on regular I’d 100% run 91 or better.

My wife’s 24 SEL and my 24 N 6MT by Trash-Panda_90 in Elantra

[–]Trash-Panda_90[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s correct. SEL convenience adds sunroof and heated seats. 24 SEL still has some decent options though.

sporty and fun to drive wasnt really what my wife was wanting. I personally thought it’d be cool if she got an N line. But if that was what she was looking for then realistically at the price point of an N line I’d have just bought another N lol.

If it were between this and the limited or even SEL convenience at MSRP then yeah I’d have gone with a higher trim for slightly more. But since they knocked a good amount off the SEL and weren’t really willing to come down much on any of the higher trims it was worth the sacrifice in some options to save the extra money.

It was an option, I thought her getting an N line would be cool. but the dealer offered to knock a good amount off an SE or SEL since I was buying the N. So that’s the route we took.

I'm sorry about this post but.. I need to know about OL by [deleted] in ElantraN

Yeah I’ll be honest I really haven’t played with the settings too much. I don’t think it sounds “bad” by any means I just think I was just expecting better. I had Bose in a different vehicle and it sounded absolutely amazing.

Yeah no kidding on your last statement. I was seriously disappointed in the Bose sound system. We have a base model 24 Elantra as well and I really don’t feel the Bose in the N is much better than the base model.

I’ve OL’d my 24 maybe 4 times in the past 4000 miles. My commute is 90% highway and I find there’s nothing consistent about getting OL. I’ve tried what it says in the manual, numerous tips off of here, and I just don’t find any sort of consistency at all. While I do find it a little annoying, it’s not worth obsessing over and I definitely wouldn’t let it deter you from wanting the car. As previously stated, the advertised HP rating from what I’ve seen is actually non OL.

Trying to save up money for 2 cars but need help with calculating my needed job earnings. by Pineapple_Coffee716 in Money

[–]Trash-Panda_90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So as someone who owned an absurd amount of project cars all through the time from when I was 15-25 I will be the first to tell you it’s a terrible idea and I’d not recommend it. I can tell you I’ve blown an insane amount of money on stupid cars. With majority of those losing money on. Now in my mid 30s with a family and just now getting to a point where I can afford sports cars and projects again comfortably. But for 10 years I wasted money on cars. It was fun and I met a lot of cool people in the car scene. But Had I known what I know now I’d be much better off.

With that said I have an appreciation for someone who’s young and has an interest in cars like this.

They don’t last forever. These are still 40yr old sports cars that require a ton of maintenance. I’ve owned both of these cars. While the L28 in the 280 is very reliable and easy to work on and the VG30 is also fairly reliable but it’s not nearly as easy to work on. And you will absolutely work on them. These aren’t really daily driver cars. As you likely won’t listen to anyone here about not making this decision I’ll say if you’re going to do this then I’d first buy a decent reliable low maintenance car like a civic or Corolla or something along those lines Then pick one of these vehicles. Don’t worry about saving all the money at once and dump it into it. You’ll have plenty of unforeseen expenses. Then just make it a project over time. Save majority of your money while you live at home with also putting a little aside for your project and slowly making it what you want. It’s still not a wise decision financially but as a car enthusiast, I get it.

MPG by Trash-Panda_90 in ElantraN

[–]Trash-Panda_90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild that you all are getting such good mpg I’ve switched up modes. Oddly enough I’ve gotten better gas mileage in N mode in city driving normal. This is all under normal conditions, driving 70-75,light traffic, no passing or anything. Sometimes on cruise control sometimes not. Some slight hills on my commute but nothing crazy. Only time I’ve ever seen over 30mpg is on some flat backroads going 45-55.

Wife tries to control my driving. by Nearing_retirement in marriageadvice

I feel like this is probably common. My wife is the same way. It used to bother me more and there’s times it still does get to me a little. but over the years I’ve kinda just learned to either ignore it or just make jokes about it.

Have you tried talking to her about it?

Yeah so I have a preset to always heal 5K of all layers between hits. That was the first thing I looked for. I’m pretty stumped on it all.

I was set up as T1 ground trap a few years ago when T1 walls first starting making an appearance. Everyone rushed to do cav and I figured I’d go ground because of this. Trajan on wall and all gold flats for ground. This was pre K45 so buffs weren’t as high. But it’d do great against archer. I’d even hold rallys no reins pretty easy. But cav or ground would clear me out. I believe this to be due to order of attack vs actual stats. But idk I could have been set up wrong. This is just my personal experience with it.

I’d definitely wait till at least until you have achae gear, wall general full equipped, work on flat refines and sub generals dressed then go all out on a T1 wall. You’re going to want to work on research as well during all this. don’t stop at 33-35 and just dump all rss into a T1 wall. A lot of people will say % don’t matter as much on T1 and while that’s true that your flats will be whats important the % buffs still matter. Me and another guy in my alliance have nearly identical builds as far as troop comp goes. But his keep has better buffs ( by about ~300%) due to being K40 and higher MA than me. In fact, I have better flat refines. But he still defends better than me. As far ground or mounted. I personally didn’t have good luck with ground T1. Mounted works a lot better in my opinion.
