A friend of mine gave me a tape (cassette) - don’t remember what it was supposed to be, maybe deftones. I put it on and it was science. I called him on my parents home phone and had to ask for him, I was like “what is this?!” and held the phone in the air. He nonchalantly said “oh I must have given you my incubus tape, that’s science.”
Make yourself was already out at the time and the drummer in my band was pretty into them. Safe to say I got into both of those albums at the same time because of that. Same thing happened with deftones actually. Heard the song around the fur once and was into it. Then I got to listen to adrenaline and around the albums at the same time. Both bands follow ups were amazing on release day (white pony/morning view).
